SACRED CLOWN
Loneliness surrounded the boy
No one really gave anything
But all stole a bit from his joy
He had no one to teach him
No tools that he could employ
To touch his mind now so grim
So he sought to find happiness
In serving with friendly deeds
He did not expect tenderness
But he reaped only enemies
Then he tried to plant flowers
Got mostly thistles and thorns
He began to doubt his powers
But he slowly grew his horns
And without any real choice
To figure out the puzzle of life
He became each missing piece
So as to end all pain and strife
He became the sacred clown
Last seen going to the horizon
Jumping up and jumping down
Saying he’d teach satisfaction
To a world filled with strangers
By first showing them their pain
Then turning them into angels
And he would make it rain again
For he had the scorpion by the tail
He had done it on their behalves
To pierce through life’s feisty veil
With thunderbolts of love in hands.
