Discussions about all types of music

I could listen to this album over and over, and never get tired of it.

mint jams (1982) by japanese jazz fusion band Casiopea is arguably one of the best live albums ever recorded. the production process involved taking live recordings, removing most of the crowd and ambient noise, and remixing it in studio. the result is astonishingly clean and tight, while still retaining the energy of a live performance.

mint jams is endlessly groovy with densely layered interplay between synth, guitar, bass, and drums. every time you listen you’ll find new details and nuance to appreciate, and you’ll just feel better after listening. highly recommended.

hope you had a good friday, purple app. if you’re in need of tunes, here’s Ronnie Foster’s second album as a band leader released in 1972. a nice mix of soul-jazz with some funk and fusion sprinkled in.

I sprinted out of the shower so i could poorly hum this melody so i wouldn’t forget it, and then turned it into this
One of the best Genius Open Mic performances I've seen. Doechii’s flow is incredible, and the chemistry with Issa Rae made it so much fun
