Am I the only one who donโ€™t like the EU replaceable batteries regulations? The phone will soon be made worse for zero environmental benefits.
I am wondering if Bluesky team has any regret in focusing their initial crowd in BOC activists. The team is now constantly under uproar and backlash. Apparently it greatly affect their productivity and roadmap.
Yea, โ€œfree speechโ€ is coded. It is what my government told me too.
The Moderatorsโ€™ Trilemma by Alan Rozenshtein:

Running a platform with a large and diverse user base; Attempting to use a centralized, top-down content moderation policies; Avoid angering their users.

These three goals canโ€™t all be met.
Watching the drama in Bluesky, enjoying the peace (maybe temporary) in Farcaster.
I am from a place where we were deprived of freedom of speech over one night. I donโ€™t get why many American liberals now are so keen on heavy restriction on free speech on internet, in the name of defending from Fascism. To an extend that J. S. Millโ€™s idea on freedom of speech is an abettor of Fascism.
Hot take: Have been trying to introduce both Bluesky and Farcaster to people in tech but not crypto. The wallet login and web3 connotation have became a big obstacle to onboard more people. It will be even so when move to mainnet and pay gas to register. But CT need attention, they arenโ€™t moving to FC neither.
My ideas on how content moderation should be done on the social internet. And why Mastodon is a bad example https://paragraph.xyz/@kc/content-moderation-of-social-internet
Bluesky recently onboarded a bunch of big Twitter users and nocoiners. It feels very much like Twitter now.
Got a prize from Lens Protocol in ETHGlobal Tokyo (thanks) and spent some time on it. I think it is a clear example of how token incentives are harmful to a product. There are way too many airdrop farmers and low quality shilling, making it an unpleasant space for social.
@betashop.eth are you still around in ETHGlobal Tokyo? See if we have chance to meet up.
Are there anyone at ETHGlObal Tokyo? Who want an after party drink? https://i.imgur.com/ma2cx1r.jpg
There is a Farcaster meetup at NFT NYC and ETHTaipei, but none at ETHGlobal Tokyo. I feel missed out.
Have been using both Farcaster and Bluesky for a while. I feel that Blueskyโ€™s users has more diversity. It is easier to find anime, art, cats, non-crypto tech, and they have large community of active Japanese users. Farcaster is more focused on crypto and adjacent topics.
Bluesky has a huge community in Japan. https://i.imgur.com/AjZmA7n.jpg
I see many prominent no-coiners on Twitter smoothly transitioned to AI-doomer. How to explain this phenomenon?
AGI is an existential risk as much as climate change, but the discourse is totally fucked up. We should be articulating facts, promoting mutual understanding, and proposing workable policies, but we are talking fiction and nuclear exchange to stop AGI.
AI killing humans may be a remote problem to worry about, but AI aligning with values of oppressive countries already happens. If AI is open, someone will use it to kill us. If not, some governments will use it to oppress. Sounds like humanity is doomed in any way.
I need a CatGPT to translate what she say. Anyone working on a Multi-Meow LLM? https://i.imgur.com/Tv3XJdL.jpg
