new wordsss.com work: @unichain by @uniswap

"Designed for DeFi. Powered by Uniswap. Informed by our experience building the world's largest decentralized trading protocol."

truly nobody better to turn my wordsss into a beautiful landing page than @tyj & much love to @chase & @dylanabruscato for trusting me on this
/words
4 different founders have reached out to us this month for help with their "story" (both used that word)

we started working with 2 of them:
1. software/gaming company (100+ FTE) revamping their about/careers page to recruit top talent

2. YC-backed dev tool launching soon with a 'manifesto' written to acquire users & hire founding engineers

selling anything (be it a product or an open role) is downstream of a clear, compelling, and credible story

just found out about founder mode 🤯

alright gonna need to start seeing yall's certificates
crypto’s promise has always been a better internet (what “better” means is less clear)

in the near-term it prob looks a lot like today's internet, but on crypto rails: faster, cheaper, open, transparent

we’re not there yet, but Blackbird + $FLY is a preview of what could be
Ettinger-kun is soooo addicted to giving advice, he can't even stop when he's the one who needs it most >.<

I sent a big update yesterday to the defacto wordsss.com "board" (trusted friends/mentors)

-company updates (hired an EA, filed as S-corp)
-project updates (wrapping two big ones this week)
-pipeline (possibly you!)
-financials (four straight months of growth)
-asks (referrals, top biz tips)

through the first six months, it seems the best fits for our services are startups (seed & series A) with a major innovation component (software, crypto, products) and small marketing teams (usually focused on growth)

for "sprints" (most popular type of engagement) teams are usually prepping for a launch, looking to refresh their brand, or working on a campaign

we have two open kickoff slots in August for any companies needing help with:
-positioning (tone, mission/vision, description, taglines) 🍞🧈
-copy (website/app overhaul, landing pages)
-marketing collateral (long-form, email, social)

howdy@wordsss.com if you want to chat 🤠

(shares are much appreciated and successful referrals are thanked accordingly)
new wordsss.com work with Jihoz & Axie 👾

The Web3 Gaming Growth Handbook: a beginner's guide for growing your onchain game — https://x.com/Jihoz_Axie/status/1813340640433807795
had a power breakfast with @jackson and @jonwu this am...

those two can yap with the absolute best of them (respectfully)

the clip at which they freestyled genuinely unique/useful advice is exceptional

find a way to work with these insane people...
my thoughts on an in-person meeting on 42nd street and 11th (!!) ave
trying something 🆕 for use your words

weekend positioning sprint 🏃‍♀️

two full-day sessions with your founding team to hone in on what your company does & why you do it

available dates: this weekend [June 8+9] or June 21-23 https://x.com/ettinger/status/1798755568087110104
turned th*rty this week & May became our biggest month in the short history of wordsss.com 🫶

things we worked on:
-positioning — fitness co
-deck — Hollywood agency
-fundraising — ai product
-copy — ketamine therapy platform
-long-form — web3 gaming

feeling grateful, young, scared, excited... onward!
some thoughts from a week in London 🍺
perhaps our greatest weakness as podcasters is not that we posted this 1 month late but rather than we are much taller than joe r*gan
he called @fwb fest “earning man” 💀💀💀
job safe for at least another week
a mutual friend of Jackson and mine recently agreed that he consistently delivers better & more thoughtful advice than any founder or investor we knew

having @jackson in your corner pushing you on your work is worth whatever amount it takes (he should probably charge more)
new essay: concerns about how we're becoming increasingly addicted to a legal and harmful vice

industry insiders are worried, but it’s becoming too big to fail

plus a story on how you might be able to get back your lifetime losses (if you’re not too addicted to quit)
“Our goal is to help onboard the next billion users onto crypto.”

I’ve written copy like this for clients, but I’m scrapping it.

Onboarding users isn’t a goal worth championing. Auth aside, missions should be downstream of onboarding.

Aim to provide so much utility that of course it onboards users.
new “use your words” work: CitizenX

the brief: refine positioning and messaging before public launch

the deliverables: brand marketing guide, manifesto, website & product copy

always fun getting to work with people quite literally trying to change the world

I had a blast helping them tell that story
