Design Futures. For designers, engineers, scientists, artists, and futurists to dream BIG & make it happen. ☘️🍄🌝🌞🌎✨

Kaoru Mende and his Anniversary Match #nowreading Designing Design - Kenya Hara , Lars Muller Publishers 2017
Imagine a way to iterate the $100 laptop. How would that look like?
Probably an unpopular opinion, we shouldn’t just build thing for the sake of anonymity but really think the use and why behind it. On the social level, there is spectrum of this being, keep this in mind.
How do you go about when a nation’s GDP is solely rely on housing market? What speculation you can introduce?
Sometime it’s about the opportunity, all products doesn’t need to always design for solving problems.
What methodology do you use when designing for future?
Does future need to be a hard-to-get?
What are ways to create that imagination?
People can use beautiful words to describe the future they imagine but the actual work is hard work.
If you think about it, the best way to build a better future is to empower more kind people. This topic can break into various stream; define “kind” in this circumstance.
Give your code a 2nd life, if you believe that you are building the right thing, it might just be about finding the right people to vibe with.
Design futures always start by knowing the current deeply. Although many things I do is on the Digital Touch point but it still important to understand the local culture.
Are there notable social engineering that we can learn from?
A good practice is to ask many questions.
Design for future might require huge amounts of efforts but it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t start with small step.
Being optimistic is excellent way to encourage innovation but we should never forget about reality check. Market behavior is possibly be changed without you realizing.
Good read.
Sometime I struggle to design solutions with confidence because it’s hard to predict an engagement rate. It’s very important to observe the society problems but be aware of the iterate solution might introduce another set of problems.
Thinking a way to introduce a new social norm? Is it better starting by where and how people usually hand out? Although the actual touch point is digital but always good to start with human-human interaction, right?
A very good piece to read if you contribute in the “space” https://otherinter.net/research/three-body-problem/
Starts by the most pressing issues then you build toward it.
Navigating the uncertainty. It’s always good to think back the origin.
Design futures starts by inspiring people around you about the future, think bigger.
What’s your preference?
1, build a entire new thing that intent to solve current observed problems.
2, build a minimal thing that solve a very particular problem
Reputation is only efficient within the context.
wen no UI?

No UI this topic has been discussed few years back when the voice assistant launch to the market. There is more and more robust way to do things without any UI.

How might we design "feedback" in a systematic way?
