Whelp it's rained for 2 days straight. My sunflower heads are now mold instead of being my next batch of seeds to harvest. My stalks may also get moldy instead of fully drying out. Bright side I have a solitary fig starting on my tree.
Apple season is upon us. Time to make jars and jars of applesauce. Gotta choose my cinnamon carefully since some have an alarming amount of lead in them.
Chopped some bushels of basil and got them hanging for ample basil in the winter. Always make a couple gallons of tomato sauce in December.
Anyone else spend a good part of the day harvesting seeds. Tons of dill seeds, a small handful of broccoli, some wild sweet clover, small bit of Thai basil, so many sunflower seeds, some potato and onion starts to over winter, and a failed attempt at cucumber seeds.
In zone 7b. I'm a little late but I got my fall produce in. Hoping for some carrots, radish, and bunching onions. My spinach should take off just fine. Also starting some garlic to overwinter. And harvesting my sunflowers for garden stakes next year. Check out this sunflower trunk.
One of the best parts about living in Hawaii:

I have two avocado trees within walking distance that produce a mighty crop!
Fresh from the garden. Turned into pickles and pesto. More basil off camera. And a dozen cherry tomatoes enjoyed. The meager broccoli is because we're coming out of season so they were also snacks.
