Irvine Marriott, Irvine California

7.5/10

Good, not great.

Has everything that you need. But nothing fancy. Clean. Can get busy in the early AM.

Some bonus points for also having an outdoor Pilates, yoga, and medicine ball area by the pool.
Marriott Town Center, Charleston, WV

5/10

Pretty basic for a “full service” Marriott

-Cable station
-Dumbbells up to 50
-4 treadmills
-other stuff I don’t care about

-smells bad (this dropped it a full point)
Hotel Kameha, Zurich Switzerland

7.25/10

Small but solid. One single apparatus is carrying the score for this gym.

That bold gold cable tower/smith machine/pull bars is a huge bonus making up for an otherwise lackluster gym.

-not great treadmills, they shake
-decent bikes
-dumbbells up to 30 kilos…very nice
-huge TV and some other stuff I’ll never use.

Floor to ceiling windows is a bonus
AC Marriott Malaga Palacio, Malaga, ESP

4.75/10

This one is just pretty uninspired

-No real cable station or place to do pull ups
-Dumbbells up to less than 50 lbs
-a few treadmills and bikes
-universal machine
Renaissance Tampa International Plaza

7.75/10

Design and layout aren’t inspiring, but it’s getting a decent score due to having some unique machines.

-Hate the powered treadmills they have, but manual slatted belt curved treadmills are a great novelty for a hotel gym.
-step mill is nice to have
-good multi function cable machines
-dumbbells up to 50
-box jump pads
-kettle bells
Towneplace Suites, Lakeland FL

5.75/10

This is honestly better than I expected for one of these “roadside” non-full-service hotels. Was 100% expecting to walk in and give this a 2.5 or something. Better than what you would find at most hotels like this.

Decent treadmills
Dumbbells up to 50
Cable tower
Clean, large windows with blinding sunlight
Essex House, JW Marriott, Manhattan NYC

6.25/10

Pretty meh, but not horrible for NYC hotel gyms.

Dumbbells up to 45 (strange)
Kettle bells
Good cable machine
Bad treadmills, but who needs them when you’re right on Central Park
Pelotons
Some machines,

nothing special, depressing paint, small windows

Underwhelming for what you’d expect in a JW Marriott, but understandable due to old historic building and NYC limitations.
Indianapolis Marriott Downtown.

7/10

It’s got mostly everything you need but nothing “extra.” Would probably be a 6.75 if not for the cool windows in front of and above the treadmills.

Good treadmills
Dumbbells up to 50
Cable station
Kettle bells
2 pelotons
Some machines

Good enough for a post game workout, but in the future I’ll be staying at the Weston or JW Marriott just for their excellent gyms.
Westin Indianapolis Downtown

8.25/10

Was really surprised at how good this gym is.

Good treadmills, pelotons, step mills, rower, smith machine w/ free weights, 2x dumbbells, two cable towers, trx, box jumps, kettle bells, battle ropes, yoga and Pilates section, something for everyone.

This is a really well thought out gym. Clean, high ceilings, good view/not in a basement.
Playtime over, back to work. From the stadium to the gym
Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center. 5/10 rating

Good treadmills and dumbbells up to 50. Pretty much everything else lacking. No place to do pull-ups, no traditional cable tower.
Sheraton Stonebriar (Dallas Area)
6.5 out of 10

Good treadmills and just enough of the other stuff with dumbbells up to 50, kettle bells, and a cable/pull up station. Clean and quiet
JW Marriott, Indianapolis, IN, USA

8.5/10

One of the better Marriott gyms you’ll find in this part of the country. They have pretty much any kind of weights, machines and cardio equipment you could want. Same problem as most hotels and dumbbells only up to 50 lbs. Floor to curling windows on 3 sides. Chilled towels are a nice touch!
if you're going to 2049 Singapore in September, the Capthorne Waterfront hotel is decent, and affordable, and has a solid gym
finding a great hotel gym is often a huge struggle

here's a Pro Tip:

if the city has a Soho House hotel/club, often the gyms are significantly better than most hotels in town, especially in major cities like Barcelona as shown here 🎇

I'm not even a member at Soho (not a fan of the clubs). Anyone can book the hotels, and you can buy a "soho friends" plan for $130 which gives you 10% to 20% off of Soho House Hotels without the expensive club membership. Well worth it!

Rixos hotel Dubai JBR Walk

The hotel itself is just ok but the gym is well stocked

8/10

Only negative is missing a proper cage
Ok, let’s bring some life back to this channel! I’ll start:

Renaissance Newport Beach, CA

Rating 6/10

Pretty standard Marriott branded full service hotel gym.

-2 cable racks/pull up bars
-Standard set of dumbbells up to 50 lbs
-2 adjustable benches
-6 Life Fitness treadmills…the good kind
-3 bikes
-3 ellipticals
-2 yoga/pilates/stretching pods
-shoulder press and chest press machines
-2 leg extension machines

Clean and quiet, nice view of the pool

Rixos hotel Dubai

(Yes I flew from Denver to Dubai 🙃)
the hotel I’m staying at in Denver must be older than the declaration of independence

But then there’s this somehow - and empty
🏋️‍♀️ managed to snag a great deal at this very very old historical hotel in Denver, The Oxford Hotel, which i'm only staying at for 1 reason:

hotel gym recommendation in Denver?

must haves:
- pullup bar
