outer corps (pronounced ôu'tər kôr [ow-tur kor]): a community pushing the boundaries of science, technology, and economics to establish an interplanetary human civilization

clip from 8 years ago where Elon responds to all the criticism being lobbed toward SpaceX at the time

"I was very sad to see that because those guys are heroes of mine, so
it's really tough. I wish they would come and visit and and see the
hard work that we're doing here and I think that would change their mind."

let’s be honest, this success is 90% owed to the raptor engine engineers. insane efficiency and throttle controls in that design

this is a great example of the view you get from isla blanca park on south padre island. one of the best places in the world to watch a launch

beautiful day for the greatest rocket performance in history
looks like tomorrow’s launch and booster catch attempt is a go!

i’ll be there but due to family plans this weekend i’ll only be there right around the launch window period, so there’s not enough time to organize a bigger fc get-together. perhaps next time.

but, if anyone else happens to be there tomorrow, reach out - i’d love to meet up on the isla blanca park dunes and watch it together!
looks like the FAA might approve it sooner than expected

i'll drop back in with some spaceX starship IFT-5 news when available. if anyone is interested in going to see IFT-5 (likely nov-dec timeframe), reach out - we hope to have a small group organized. i'll be driving down to south padre from austin when the time comes
I hadn't fully appreciated how many independent space programs exist around the world

It's not just SpaceX, NASA, ESA, and Roscosmos — there is a lot more going on https://spaceexplorationlogoarchive.webflow.io/
it's amazing what humans can achieve once they are finally shown what is possible. confident expectation is powerful.
ok, let's get back to those Mars mission ideas. here's an idea from Peter Hague maximizing starship efficiency using a continuously increasing group of sun-orbiting starships as regular ferries to the red planet:

initially, the mission to Mars would carry 250 people on 5 Starships, each designed for different roles. one ship will carry all the crew, maximizing space for living quarters, while the others serve as space-only vehicles, cutting down on mass for the journey
