"Following their self-titled 7” from 2021, II features seven new tunes from Montréal’s TOTAL NADA. With lyrics in Spanish, the bands’ taut hardcore approach is cast in looming post-punky shadows that lend an heir of dread to the spirited music. It’s fiery, battle-cry-laden punk slathered in dark moods that range from jaded dissatisfaction to full-on impending doom. Powerful and pouty, this would make a perfect soundtrack to being trounced by a gothic MMA fighter." - MRR

From start to finish this gem that mixes distortions and melodic sounds in repetitive rhythms and some guitar highs like plucked arrangements, one of my favorite albums 1998
"Class careens from sounding like the BOYS to the sneering power pop of White Heat. The wizardry of songcrafting is something to behold, with layers of harmonies propelling ordinary melodies into the orbit of a higher plane. Class doesn’t sound that much like the Exploding Hearts, but they draw from the same wellspring of influences...striking gold where others have come up empty-handed." - MRR

"High Vis’ latest single, “Drop Me Out”, is a stormy rock rager that showcases the band’s ability to blend punk simplicity with a majestic and melodic twist. The song kicks off with a gritty blend of distorted guitars and a driving drum beat, establishing an intense atmosphere right from the start."

Somehow missed this for a decade+, but it's funny and the video has Adult Swim circa Space Ghost Coast to Coast vibes

"This sophomore album from UK punks The Chisel is a raw and energetic ode to working-class struggles, channeling righteous anger and defiance through catchy, anthemic street punk melodies and lyrics that refuse to sugarcoat the harsh realities of modern life. With its unapologetic language and unbridled intensity, “What a Fucking Nightmare” is a testament to the enduring power of punk music to convey angst and social disillusionment, making it a must-listen for fans of the genre."

“Melbourne, Australia’s most feared hardcore cyber-vandal cell returns to wreak havoc on your network and your dance floors with the four-track “Psy Wi-Fi” EP. Following up the tightly-wound attack as heard on 2021’s “Pick A Path” 12”, Hacker have defragged the hardware and blown the dust out, striking again with more slightly more expansive songwriting. “Psy Wi-Fi” marks the welcome addition of a pinch more metal in the guitars and a fistful more pummel in the breakdowns to their established blueprint of direct, charging hardcore riffs, a rhythm section that is as agile as it is powerful, and one of the most expressive, capable and rabid vocalists in punk today. Update your firewall all you want, Hacker is coming. Expect them.”

"Warning French Content! RIXE is back with a four track EP, their most French material to date. Directly influenced by the drum machine punk which has been a standard of French punk since its first inception. RIXE's trademark sound is still there but this unlikely twist has expanded the band’s sound beyond what any Herbert would expect. Keeping one boot firmly in the CAMERA SILENS/ WARRIOR KIDS camp while the other one dances around METAL URBAIN, KARNAGE, BUTCHER or even D-STOP and MOPO MOGO, creating a threesome of fuckwave, OI! and pop music as infectious as their previous four EPs."

"Toronto’s long-running hardcore titans return with a new seven-track LP that fuses their many strengths into the ultimate slab of S.H.I.T. While S.H.I.T.’s previous 12” leaned into the gnarlier, more chaotic aspects of their sound, For a Better World returns to the infectious bouncy rhythms and earworm riffing that made S.H.I.T.’s 7” EPs classics of modern punk."

"Dungeon punk? Medieval post-punk? Anarcho-goth? Chainmail-core? POISON RUÏN is a super hard band to define as they have so much going on in terms of influences. At the core, they are a post-punk band, and that is very well-defined, but they lean towards Oi!, sometimes deathrock, and even dungeon synth at other times. Like medieval AMEBIX playing WIPERS songs after a few pints of mead. It started out as a solo project of Mac Kennedy, but since then has become a full-band venture. 'Not Today, Not Tomorrow' starts out with dungeon synth and it ends with thunder over an epic punk riff. Shall I say more? The highlight is the closer 'Edifice,' a bleak, mid-tempo post-punk anthem filled with dread. Throw on your chainmail, and get your dice ready." - MRR

"A power trio from Frösön/Sweden, formed in 2012. The foundation of their uncompromising DIY-attitude and savagery is in d-beat punk-inspired noise mixed with classic 80s metal. Conjuring a destructive vortex of violently rotating northern winds of head banging chaos and pure hell."
