Steve Vai
This one hits close to home since my dad has always been a guitar virtuoso fanatic, so I grew up listening to people like Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, and Steve Vai.
Vai studied under Satriani as a teen and since then has had four decades of music under his belt. His solo work, especially "Passion and Warfare," cemented his status as a guitar icon. Vai also has collaborated with rock legends, designed his own guitar line with Ibanez, and won three Grammy Awards.
