TrishD's Crafter's Cove

New channel for crafts is /acrafterscove. This one is in transition to being a behind the scenes look at processes used in videos, audio, etc. Thanks for your patience.
Hi, folks. I plan on closing this channel soon and placing all craft-related content at /acrafterscove. Please feel free to follow that channel, and I'll send you a member invite if you're not one already. Thanks for your support.
If you make videos, do you have a favorite lighting setup? I bought a small document camera thinking it would work well for filming crafting sessions, but it leaves a lot to be desired. Do you have a ring light?
I hit a video editing snag with the first body doubling crafting video for /acrafterscove. The more I think about it, the more I think using this channel for a behind the scenes look at making videos and other work for crafting, /blxstonesnctuary, and other projects is a good idea for myself and others who might like a look at processes.
What are you crafting or coloring this week? Feel free to share.
Hi folks. I've created a new channel for crafting, and I explain my reasoning below. I'm considering keeping the /trish channel for things like adventures in video editing and other behind the scenes stuff for /acrafterscove, /blxstonesnctuary, YouTube, etc. But I'm not sure yet. Thanks for your patience during the transition.

Hi folks. I'm editing my first body doubling video for the channel that I mentioned in my Crafter's Cove intro on Paragraph. This one is pre-recorded but I'm also considering live videos for the future. I've linked an article that explains the body doubling technique in relation to work and productivity. For our purposes though, I'm employing this technique for those who need a nudge to take an hour without the thought of "getting things done." If you have a craft you haven't worked on in months or even years, I want to encourage you to take an hour and work on it with no pressure to finish. I want to encourage a no-hustle mindset for an hour.
You can, of course, use the hour to work on a hustle-related craft or other project and getting things done. There'll be no pressure from me about what you have to do. I'll let you know when it's finished. You also don't have to be diagnosed with any attention deficit disorder. All are welcome. https://add.org/the-body-double/

Hi, folks. It's been a busy week and I haven't been keeping up with the channel changes on FC. I'll go over them this weekend, but this is such a tiny space right now, so I don't think much will change. I will be sending out member invites though.
Have you all seen this busted canvas trend? Some of them are so cute. https://youtube.com/shorts/Isrm6u2hCAM?feature=shared
I've lost enough weight that I'm able to wear a sweater I crocheted eons ago, but I have some arm adjustments to make, lol. What crafty thing are you working on this weekend?
Melting 1 ounce each of coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax for DIY lotion bars. I love them and can even use them on my face as long as I don't add fragrance or essential oils.
I'm baaaaaaaack. 😁 I needed a social media break, but the autumn renews my spirit. I hope you're all doing well. More to come. But in the meantime, I love this lovely lady's attitude.

I've done some rearranging with vertical storage as part of my office/crafter reorganization plan. But I'm still contemplating what to do with a section of the office. Have you heard of the Dreambox and it's price tag of over $2000? No shade on those who can buy one, but that's a big ouch for my budget. So I've been gobbing out on dupe videos. Most of them use four bookcases on casters as a base. Here's a short vid. I'm sharing it at the 2:57 mark where she does the reveal. It's ingenious. https://youtu.be/IkCzVRLy4RE?t=177

I don't have kids, but I love back-to-school shopping season. Glue sticks and notebooks and markers on sale. Oh my!

Sometimes I'm not in the mood to get a bunch of supplies out, but I still want to be creative. Making collages without substrates is a fun way to do that. I like using up scrap pieces from other projects as well as recycling items like packing paper. Bonus: Playing with paper and glue is relaxing too.

Reorganization update: You know when you start reorganizing in one room and you realize in order to do that you have to clean out your closet and clear space in other rooms? That's where I'm at right now. 🙃 I won't be putting actual paint on walls for a while.

Have you heard of Go Imagine, a selling platform similar to Etsy? I'm researching other platforms, not as a replacement but in addition to Etsy to list crafts and candles. https://cuttingforbusiness.com/goimagine/
