OK TIL HPMOR is longer than lord of the rings. This thing is a monster...
What are examples of depin applications that people here think make the most sense?
TIL the sum of all fibs is the second-next fib minus one.

Kinda obvious once you think about it, but still... never seen this mentioned before.

Cross-posting a thought on staking from the other app:

------

Perhaps we should recognize that 32 ETH is much more of a barrier for stakers than bandwidth reqs, and temporarily do a trade where we up the bandwidth reqs a bit and in exchange drop the staking deposit minimum to eg. 16 or 24 ETH.

It's net-good for both staking accessibility and scale. Then once we figure out peerdas, bandwidth reqs go back down, and once we figure out orbit SSF, the deposit minimum can drop to 1 ETH.

Doing an experiment: Balaji's network state ideology vector quiz, but for zuzaluans.

I'm curious to see how network school and the various zuzalu communities differ. Paste your answer strings in replies!

Why is the aesthetic of gyms, even the good ones, always so lifeless? Always black and grey and white everywhere. I want fans blowing air in my face at 12 km/h and a simulation of running along a forest path in a magical fantasy world .... or at least some plants.
Update on this: I feel like this problem has decreased by ~50% since (my memory of) pre-covid, more and more breakfasts have vegetables, especially in East Asia. Still far from ideal though.
memecoin twitter 最近好神奇...
I was just standing beside someone who ordered a literal soy latte. I think until this point I didn't even realize that soy lattes exist as an actual drink; my mind only recognized the term "soy latte" as a standardized culture war slur that the opposite tribe sometimes uses against my archetype.
There are ways to justify this (decreasing marginal tax rates are consistent with optimal tax theory, as you get the incentive effect without the reduction in revenue on the hours that people would work anyway), but in general I'm kinda worried about tax policy being driven by memetics. Becomes a complexity nightmare.

Generative AI is helping me write code, make drawings and learn. Crypto is helping me make international payments, use more open social networks, and get a new class of supplementary news via polymarket.

What is the metaverse doing? (Genuine question, not an attack)

Project naming be like
Sometimes you can believe the right thing for the wrong reason.
Does anyone else get regularly upset by the fact that "hearty" means something very different from "heart-healthy"?
Why don't people who casually say things like this on the other app realize that prediction markets exist? You can have words backed by genuine risk of meaningful personal consequences there, and it's much more peaceful.

It was a mistake to use the word "toffee" for some candy thing. I just accidentally made a 50/50 tea+coffee mix, and coffee people actually liked it. We should call that toffee instead.
One meta-note on the situation, is that in my timeline I have seen exactly zero non-western people defending Durov's arrest, but quite a few western people.

Definitely don't want to say that they don't exist (after all, my timeline is biased just like anyone's), just this is what my sample is so far.

IMO this is another example of the decoupling of liberalism and westernism that https://x.com/MacaesBruno often talks about.
I guess I started an accidental AMA on which parts of the crypto space are good and which I'm so far not excited about, along with other big picture vision questions:

You should feel free to ask questions here too! Let's see if Farcaster can come up with higher-quality questions than the other app :)

A similar error is that many people want early stage industry vibez without early stage industry risks.

eg. too many defi protocols, not enough popup cities / network states / zu villages 😀
Do people actually consciously make a judgement about quality of service when they tip??!

I always just mindlessly add 15-20%. So the whole "tipping incentivizes quality of service" argument has always seemed unrealistic to me.
