Where geography, politics, and international relations meet. This channel aims for high-quality discussions. No domestic US politics.

An interactive map shows the satellite-detected IDF intrusions into Lebanon, roads and tracks detected into Lebanon, polygons enclosing them, and UNIFIL positions. It is being updated live.

What are the geopolitical risks of an unhinged billionaire?
genocides have consequences
brace yourself for a post-human rights world
where anyone can claim the "right to defend themselves"
but anyone can also be "designated as a terrorist"
and that includes YOU

because it doesn't matter anymore what you do

after 2 attempts where no iranians were involved and we don’t know much about who was

it sounds like they’re going to do an attempt by themselves and then have a perfect justification to escalate things in the east
Hezbullah fired rockets at Israeli citizens from positions that are 500 meters from UNFIL bases.

The entire point of these bases is to prevent Hezbullah from being over 200km from these points.

UN is literally useless

Just when I think it can’t get worse, it does. The footage coming out of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Gaza is too horrific to share. More bombs dropping on families in tents as they sleep.

I just can’t.
...well, it's inconvenient.
The DPRK says it has ordered the artillery corps near the border to be fully prepared to shoot 👀
The UN has got to the most toothless global organization out there.

Change my mind!
It’s voting day again here in Belgium.
Only local elections this time.

Also the first time you don’t have a voting obligation here :)
dr Tanya Haj-Hassan for CNN about the larger geopolitical and cultural consequences of the situation in Gaza

after a year of Israeli offensive, "death tolls in Gaza are so far outdated that we have no idea how many ppl are killed, but I'm genuinely afraid about what we are gonna find out when the dust settles. History books will be written on this and countries will have to reckon, media agencies will have to reckon with their major role in the genocide of the entire population and the destruction of the humanitarian law and the law of order"

the question is..

imagine the russian opposition taking the power on russia.. who will you support? putin or the opposition? i know my answer.. and I know yours..
on previous russian elections one of my political apps has been attacked by the kremlin in a troll massive attack..

the same day there was a great amount of political adversaries of putin been jailed..

all of them members of the communist party (putin opposition)

are some of your brains already collapsing?

meaning, putin is not afraid of your memes.. putin is afraid of commies..

why putin and you are thinking the same and you are thinking that our ideology is closer to putin when this is closer to yours.. who knows..

I can find more paralelisms between far-right, right and putin than between commies and putin
Republic of Moldova (+Transnistria) is probably the wildest and fastest evolving geopolitical landscape; simultaneously fighting for survival (hosting refugees, energy crises etc.) and EU integration. I just found out how Pro-Russian forces recruit anti-EU activists by KYCing them via Telegram. (Also used to sponsor vandalism in EU.) That, along with more classical disinformation campaigns systematically vulnerabilize paper based statehood. It's pretty clear to me that statehood needs to be increasingly affirmed at citizen level by means of decetralized digital beaurocratic infrastructure.

How is it possible that much of the decentralized future depends on a too big to fail, economic concentration moral hazard, taxpayer burden, unfair competition garrison state?
