Who wants to know more about 3D scanning and 'confidence heatmaps'?

Let me know below and I'll share some info over the next few days

Wait till you see the confidence map of this mf

(Check back in a couple of days to see what I mean)
Awkwardly zooming in on the details of this 10k Orchid render.

Let's see how the purple app manages video compression
to celebrate the launch of /surreal-nature here is a new render of an orchid pointcloud.

Computer-vision, depth-mapping, confidence.
Just a handful of things that I'm currently thinking about.
teasing pointclouds into plumes of smoke.

just a normal Tuesday morning
I found it folks - this is where they make them.
The polarising lenses in this work are very clever - but the technicality here marries perfectly with the content.
A wonderful synthesis of intention and execution.
Slowly dissolving pointclouds.
XYZRGBA.
Not a screen, but one of my favourite artists of recent years - Victor Seaward.

He works with 3D scanning and printing. The orange and face fragment are 3D printed.
Newest 3d scan - this is not a render, just the raw pointcloud being tumbled around.

Some video compression likely, but I'm still super impressed with how well small details are reconstructed.
aspiration vs reality

Good morning

Slowly but surely sharing more examples of screen-based work that I like.

Here's Kutluğ Ataman with 'the stream'

UK-based folks, do you know anyone who makes really nice lightboxes?

Seeking recommendations for both printers and/or fabricators..

Also taking the liberty of tagging @karborn as he seems to know a lot of print folks.
Bullish on artists bouncing signals off the moon.

A question for my fellow millennials. Did you ever googlewhack?
One of my favourite screen-based installations.
Jesper Just's 'Corporealités' at Perrotin, New York (2020)
L'ordinateur 2 by Baron Lanteigne and Camille Bernard-Gravel.

Seriously tho when can I get a flexible led module.
Pochva by Fillip Groubnov.

I personally love the scattered arrangement of screens in this installation.
