Congrats to @daylight on the round led by @usv.

In 2022 we met @kyle & his methodical product ability impressed our team.

We then co-led their pre-seed & they’ve exceeded every expectation since.

They send weekly updates to investors & are always heads down. Special team.
Apple Notes #2:
- AI software market size
- Why the crypto community should be talking about Polymarket more
- El Segundo founder views on deep tech for seed investors (hint it wasn’t what I expected)
Trying a format where I share my Apple Notes (some are original thoughts & others I’ve learned from others).

I put too much pressure to make each of these a blog post & would rather just share rough ideas.

If any are interesting lmk & I’ll try writing a longer form version.
Have met a couple new emerging managers raising crypto funds right now.

Hardest market to start a new crypto fund & they’re making it happen.

Love the conviction… bullish on all you 🐂
One of the most remarkable aspects of Polymarket is that the mainstream media isn't highlighting it as a crypto product.

This has been our goal from the beginning:

To create a product people love for its quality, with crypto working in the background.
*Prediction Market Summer*

The featured product today is /polymarket.

Most of you know prediction markets, but they’re crossing into the mainstream right now and emerging as the “app of the summer” with the election zeitgeist.

My brother who doesn’t use crypto shared this in our group chat last night, and it struck me that Polymarket has found early PMF.

X is also the perfect distribution channel as the content is all very shareable.
One goal for /chapterone is to feature progress in crypto products.

We will try to feature a new product everyday.

🔥 Product #1: Tiplink Wallet Adapter

- Login with Google on dApps and sign transactions embedded in the site.

- A better mobile experience using Iframes that feels like Apple Pay
Wrote an article about the end of the Warriors dynasty.

One of the most special teams to ever play sports.

Also shared a bit about my experience at Tinder when my journey came to an end.

This channel will talk about all things product, data, and design.

We want it to become a place for updates and news from Chapter One and the broader tech & crypto community.
Starting a Chapter One channel for people interested in talking about product, design, and data.

We have always been excited about making crypto more user friendly.

We will explore new products & progress that is being made.

I get asked this question often:

“Since the crypto market downturn from 2021-2023, are there less high quality developers entering the space?”

Curious what you all think.
We’re starting July tomorrow & feels like we need new product energy to get onchain summer going…

What are the most interesting releases in July & August to get the people excited again?
Crypto BD teams have one Zoom call together.

End the call with “let’s find ways to work together.”

Immediately announce partnership on Twitter.
Show me another crypto community that rolls this deep.

FarHack at Chapter One HQ has been the best hackathon of the year.
We're so excited to be hosting FarHack at Farcon at the Chapter One HQ in Santa Monica, CA 🫡

What are crypto applications that have a sneaky big set of dedicated users?
The easiest way to explain crypto
It’s now easier to launch a memecoin than building a landing page.
If anybody is coming to Los Angeles for Farcon in May & wants tips from a local (where to stay, eat, host events, etc) - feel free to ask questions in this thread.

LA is an amazing city if you know what you’re doing.

I’ll do my best to help 🔥
We did a Spaces on Dawn, a decentralized broadband protocol from the Andrena team.

Also talked about the “why now” for DePIN.

Skip forward a few minutes to the start and enjoy.

One thought I keep having:

Will be interesting when a large majority of venture capital distributions in 2024 are from crypto investments.

IPO distributions ❌
M&A distributions ❌

Crypto as an asset class has been abandoned by so many, but DPI will be 👑
Is there a site or document that tracks every Bittensor Subnet by:

1. Mission/Product
2. Team
3. Progress to Date

The Discord channels are helpful to dive into, but would be great to have a single dashboard to see their progress.

Happy to make one if not 🔥
Almost 1.5 years later, now seems like the right time to share this piece I wrote on Farcaster being the new GTM for startups.

Now this applies to founders building startups beyond crypto.

Invest time in Farcaster if you’re a founder.

I spent time last week with 100+ venture capitalists in Los Angeles.

There was a sense of camaraderie in the room. Over the past two years, most had experienced an industry meltdown together for the first time in their careers.

Sharing thoughts here.

As we reach the final quarter of 2023, one common conversation we’re having with founders is whether they should pivot or stay the course.

This is normal seeds funds in all vintages, but is especially important during a challenging Series A market.
