My Historical Adventure at Van Den Bosch Fortress, a historical site located in Ngawi, East Java, Indonesia. After a short 3 km drive from the city center, we arrived at the fortress, situated at Jl. Untung Suropati No.II, Pelem II, Pelem, Ngawi.
As we entered the fortress, we were greeted by the impressive European-style architecture. Built in 1845 by the Dutch East Indies government, the fortress features grand gates, towering watchtowers, and intricate designs. We explored various rooms inside, including barracks, warehouses, command rooms, and prison cells, each telling a unique story of the past.
The Van Den Bosch Fortress is open daily from 8 AM to 5 PM, with an affordable entrance fee of IDR 5,000 per person12. This site offers not only architectural beauty and scenic views but also a deep dive into Indonesia's rich history.
