My official scorecard from the blind taste test and a look at the winning tray from Utopia Bagels.

To keep objectivity, each bagel was given a code name based on different colors. Utopia was viridian.
VIP Passes to Bagel Fest included a behind the scenes tour of Citi Field.

While we were in the visitors dugout a man proposed to his fiancée behind home plate and the whole tour cheered.
The Blind Taste Test table at Bagel Fest.

Myself and 7 judges ranked 26 bagels based on Appearance, Aroma, Texture and Taste. The results:

1st Place: Utopia Bagels (QNS, NY)
2nd Place: Starship Bagels (Dallas, TX)
3rd Place: Bagel Market (Manhattan)
Final seconds of the Pro Bagel Roll Off at this year's Bagel Fest.

This year's winner was Alex from Bagel Market, who rolled 28 bagels in 60 seconds.
Next Saturday (9/28) I'll be guest judging for the third year in a row at BagelFest, this year being held at Citi Field.

If you're in the NYC area, this is definitely an event worth attending at least once. Say hi if you stop by!
Was in Philadelphia this weekend and passed by Kismet Bagels, had to stop in.

Short review: great branding and store experience, strong topping coverage, dense and slightly spongy, very tangy cream cheese.

Best bagel ever tasted ... Apollo bagels
Huge update just went up at EverythingIsEverything.NYC, adding a bunch new store reviews based on user suggestion.

Starting with the 2 time Bagelfest "Best of Fest" winner and Connecticut based upstart Popup Bagels

New Utopia Bagels location opening at 120 E 34th Street in Manhattan on Sunday, June 2nd.

The king of Queens bagels is looking to take Manhattan.
Cropsey Bagels in Gravesend, Brooklyn. One of the most under the radar bagels in the whole city.
A look at Gertie Bagel in Williamsburg, another upcoming review for Everything is Everything. Less a grab and go bagel spot, more a brunch showcase for all your favorite Jewish comfort foods.
Sampling from the latest buzzy bagel spot Apollo Bagels in the East Village. Very interesting experience, both good and bad.

More to come in the upcoming review, but the TL;DR is the innovations happening across the country are finally starting to infringe on the NYC bagel meta.
Got a whole lot of new reviews in the hamper, including two time Bagelfest winner Popup Bagels. More to come soon.

In the meantime, feel free to share all your best bagel alpha here!
