As we continue to dive deeper into rebuilding our design system foundation (beneath itself), it felt like a good time to go a layer deeper to the brand foundations and revisit our mood board and original vision writing.
The two important lessons here:
1. Take big risks and experiment with your brand.

A good brand narrative is good UX.
My main takeaway from Devcon is that the Ethereum brand has a perception problem and thus the technology an adoption problem. So much content centered on narrative, symbols, and UX without an attempt to understand the gap.
Cypherpunk cypherpunk cypherpunk.
Regrowth period happening and new world building being transmitted, but trying to bring a new image to the wrong value set. Cypherpunk doesn’t need a new image, Ethereum needs to shed old ideas.

Burger King's brand guidelines are exceptional and thorough.
They take their time to walk through the brand concept, set up the brand voice, and create enough structure to remove ambiguity and enable consistent quality without being too restrictive.
