You can now sign in to @buttrfly web app with your farcaster account custodied by your own external wallet!
Just connect your wallet (rainbow, zerion, cb, mm, any wallet through walletconnect). Buttrfly will detect any farcaster account held by that wallet and will let you create a signer through it to interact with farcaster. Buttrfly is currently the only farcaster client that lets you do this.
I’ve had to build this for myself because the @buttrfly account itself was created outside of warpcast (flink) and can’t sign in to warpcast. Nook was the only app that allowed sign in through an external wallet, so I haven’t been able to post from that account since nook was shut down, until now!
So if you’re one of the few users who’ve been locked out of an account because of this issue, you can now use buttrfly.app ⚡️

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been rebuilding @buttrfly from scratch as an expo/next app to bring it to web while sharing the same code/ui as the mobile app.

The alpha version of the web app is now ready! It’s very basic and missing lots of features, but wanted to get this out early to get feedback and add the most requested features first. Once the new app is more mature, the current mobile app will be replaced with the new one.
