Chip War
Book · 2022 · ★★★★½

The author does a substantial job of dissecting the industry from the inception of the invention and through all the political implications, as well as how it changed warfare. My favorite sections were about the cold war and race to the moon, as well as the economic implications of offshore production to the US. It's covers politics, tech, and manufacturing. This book is filled with knowledge and a smooth read overall. Highly recommend to anyone looking to be brought up to speed on how we got here and perspectives to form ideas for the future
Nostalgia to me is Heely’s, call of duty zombies, fruity pebbles, and AIM / Skype usernames and away messages
LFG!!! Thank you to all my followers for supporting me through this journey and sprinkling luck on my TL 🧞‍♂️

+ search profiles by ETH address

I'm building a bunch of tools to explore Ethereum addresses and farcaster profiles + channels. Basically aggregating all open data into one profile view. Pretty useful if you're researching accounts. Try it out and let me know what you think at https://dish.codes
HMU if you want to kick off a crowdfunding campaign!
I had my first chat with a VC this summer and the part that suck with me was their perspective on a successful startup doing one (or a combination) of three things that helps people:

1. Make (or save) money
2. Get laid
3. Have fun

Thinking #1 has to be the crypto thesis...
Dish Builds continues with a GoFundMe style contract

Contract is built and tested, working on UI now.

Plan is to then port it over to a mini app or frame

With Farcaster, Basenames, and Icebreaker, the KYC challenge has become both predictable and preventable. Now, verifying identity (country, name, socials), contributions (POAPs, work history), and referrals (attestations, followers) privacy & anonymity are sacrificed for more trusted and compliant actions
Quiz results on https://dish.codes are now available to be minted by the proctor to quiz takers!

This could be useful for tokengating channels via on chain credentials (proof of knowledge) or assigning roles.

Last weekend, River celebrated his third birthday by throwing a party and invited all his friends at St Jude's 🎂

He's undergoing radiation now which will be done around Thanksgiving, when he'll be tossing the coin at our local Powder Puff Football game, which his mother played in 🏈🦃

Introducing $DISH - a token of appreciation

No tokenomics, no price speculation, simply an on chain representation of my gratitude

Would anyone be interested in a /good-deeds channel that incentivizes people to do the "right thing" when no one is looking and promote positive behavior?

Not in the _handing food to homeless then takes a photo for likes_ content, but the simple, spontaneous acts of kindness that pop up in our daily lives
To my beautiful friends I’ve met on Farcaster,

I cast today to ask for your feedback on https://dish.codes in preparation for submittal to Warpcast.

Some Q’s:
- What features do you use most?
- Would you use this daily?
- Does the lack of styling make it unusable?

Roast the shit outta this app please 💜
🛠️ FC Project Workflow 💰

1. An idea is posted in /someone-build
2. Interested contributors post resumes, references, relevant experience, hourly rate using /bounties
3. Funding round kicks off, sponsors can delegate $ to open roles
4. Project Manager gives feedback and updates to both parties
I needed to eventually add the ability to fetch NFTs, so I implemented that today. I know, super trivial. BUT I plan on pulling in token holding metadata to give personalized effects to the site and profile pages eg: use @basecolors for your profile bg. A few other features were added too 🧐
After high school, my five year plan was to become a great programmer and to be able to build applications.

Did that.

After college, my five year plan was to become a startup founder.

Kinda did that but not as a founder role, rather as an employee first-hire.

I’ve learned that a startup can mean many things; could be a company with low head count that has existed for 5+ years or a VC-backed idea.

Now that was 5 years ago, I have to recalibrate my goals.

I have decided my next five year plan is to be a key player in an efficient business.

Feels like a demotion but it doesn’t have to be. I’ve learned it takes a flexible team with balanced skillsets to accomplish that and doing it alone is lonely and improbably unrealistic.

I still see myself as a glue guy and great team player, thats why I added the key player part.

Efficient business means sustainably generating revenue for a product people are willing to pay for.

How that plays out? We will see.
Part three is here! This post details what the framing process and routines looked like through my perspective of the cabin rebuild 🔨

Music playlists are so powerful because you can tap into someone's and make it feel like their presence is around
Publicly posting my TODO list for https://dish.codes

+ show full leaderboard of points people have
+ make it easier to start a new quiz after finishing one
+ show which quizzes your friends have taken
+ advanced analytics for proctors and user feedback
+ NFT mint of results for passing scores?

You can now view your submission summary and quiz stats after submittal through the app!

What other features (channel / profile explorers or quiz infra) would make this more useful to YOU??
My goal with building this trivia quiz frame is to make a proof of knowledge system through entertainment

I imagine in an OC world, passing benchmark tests to be granted access or permission will only become more prevalent via publicly verifiable merits or accolades

I just need to get it right
