Taking the past out of old shoeboxes and bringing it into the future...

As we prepare for Thanksgiving, yet again... here is my favorite Thanksgiving memory from 2017.

On the left is my daughter when she was 18 months old. On the right was me at 22 months. See any resemblance? 😀
It's Veterans Day here in America. I want to take a moment to honor everyone who has worn a uniform and served our country.

My grandfather was a radiologist stationed in Panama during World War II. Pictured here as a captain, he retired as a major in the U.S. Army and spent the remainder of his career as a Radiologist in Queens, NYC.
My grandparents meeting Reagan and Elizabeth Dole in 1985. He was an executive at Conrail and they were celebrating Reagan's privatization of the publicly owned US railroads. Elizabeth Dole was Transportation Secretary at the time.
My politics took an absolute 180° in two generations that's for sure 😂 I never had a conversation with him about politics or any of this so I don't know how he felt about it.

Are AI vintage photos allowed in here? Or do y’all keep it film m/meat space based?
My friend’s mom in the 80s.
Me (left) being a two-headed monster with my bestie in 1994.
Me, in 1989, wearing an outfit that had been hand knit by my great-grandmother.
Me (front right in the backwards hat) in 1998, at the New England Patriots training camp.
Me, at my grandparents' house on Cape Cod in 1990.
My mom passed away a few years ago. She was awesome. She was an anti-war activist and student organizer. The first woman to be president of the student body at her university. A member of the Black Panthers. Tear gassed outside of the RNC. Etc., etc.

Today would have been my grandma's 101 birthday. She was amazing. She could weld, sew or crotchet anything with no pattern, taught hula in Hawaii even though she wasn't Hawaiian, and loved all dancing. But she couldn't cook 😅
