What does this mean @dwr.eth
random devs will make a m*tam*sk hotwallet address, call themselves a bridge, and then people send hundreds of millions to dollars to it

then one day they lose their seed phrase and go "oh no our bridge has been hacked! the force majeure strikes again!"
It's insane when people compare Threads to Clubhouse

Absolutely zero ability to distinguish between an upstart app by a couple guys with no execution experience and a targeted killshot by the established leader in social over the past decade
Elon pissed me off enough I'll probably start crossposting all the quality stuff here
Happy Fourth of July!
I think a certain genre of social network, be Twitter/Warpcaster/a secret third thing, would do better to be text-only instead of giving users multimedia options. Obviously this doesn't work for an Instagram, but there's a prisoner's dilemma defection that crowds out quality conversation
what do you think about introducing auto-ephemerality on warpcast @dwr.eth? big problem with social media is the permanence that leads to gigantic privacy breaches later on, obviously people can index their own but good to have localized privacy
gm, finally found my way to warpcast instead of farcaster
why hasn't anybody built onchain social graphs yet? the primitives are there but seems to be only used for chainalysis evil and nothing else
what's your proudest achievement of 2022?
what new crypto apps are you most interested in watching in 2023? why do you think their time is now?
got more followers in my month not posting on farcaster than i did during my month on it
so when do we vote on whether @dwr.eth steps down as head of farcaster? he will abide by the results of this poll.
so the bahamas just seized all the money? any insight as to whether that was the later multisig or the initial apparent hack that was swapping tether like crazy as well
so when does elon musk buy farcaster
Think people are writing off Meta too early. Of course trying to define a new industry appears clunky at first, but it takes guts to go after a nonconsensus view once you're that large and public
Not sure why people still use bridges

Just pick a chain and only hold native assets there, never more than a couple minutes' worth of risk
It never made sense to have tokenized dollars instead of tokenized short-term treasuries. Billions of dollars of Circle/Tether revenue from holder laziness. Wonder if that arena starts getting more competitive now that interest rates are nonzero
How does Farcaster handle deletion/ephemerality? Or is everything just on a blockchain forever
Check it out! Aiming for a reusable immutable primitive that can be trustlessly reused across many top projects & platforms

.@dwr.eth Which did you pick for Farcaster, and why? https://i.imgur.com/izHdqj0.png
Been thinking about "bring-your-own-algorithm" (BYOA) as a solution to the spam problem on decentralized social. When there's only one (or only a handful) of algorithms chosen centrally, it's easy for spambots to gradient descent their way onto the feed...
What's the current timeline estimate for shanghai hardfork + enabling staked eth withdrawals? @tim
