Big week on Capitol Hill as the House passed a SAB 121 repeal, an HFS subcommittee held a hearing on SEC enforcement, and two new bills with a crypto tie were intro'd, including one to prohibit financial inst. from transacting with funds that have gone through a digital asset mixer for 2 years.
Rep. Casten intro’d bill to prohibit fin. institutions from transacting w/ funds that have gone through a digital asset mixer for two years. During 2 year moratorium, Treasury would have to study illicit v legitimate uses of mixers, privacy coins, and anonymity-enhancing tech, & report to Congress w/ policy recs.
