A space for founders

Optimization doesn't equal perfect.

It means doing your best to make something good.

Didn't hit your goal?

Forgive yourself for being human and do your best tomorrow.
okay continuing on this theme

another thing that I personally like — building things where founders are the target customers

build stuff the founding team will want to use, and then use it — makes it much easier to alpha test

if you keep using it, see if others want it, most chances are someone will

tweak as needed to expand market

(obv this is just one of the many ways to stumble upon something that works, happens to be something I’ve enjoyed personally)
Best questions are simple...

Like: "Who is our customer?"
Just got off an amazing dev call/internal meeting and got so fired up about why we need to be using decentralized messaging like we’ve embraced decentralized money. Wanted to share a clip of what we discussed.

We’ve spent 15 years fighting for economic freedom but when it comes our messaging, the most private and intimate part of our digital lives, we will literally use an app that’s owned by 1 guy.

One. Single. Guy.

It’s insanity. And now there’s a way out, another option.

@converseapp built on @xmtp - Open protocol, open app, open platform.

Going to try and share more content from internal meetings as we aim to #OpenEverything at Ephemera
There is a reason why it's called war time CEO.

Founders can often lean into military principles. For instance "fast is slow" means to do that one thing right once. If you rush the wrong thing it will come back crashing down on you.

When I do something, then I want it covered and dealt with. I do not want to come back again to this one thing that we did already.

This is how you can rely on your own building-blocks as if you would stand on the shoulders of giants.
OrangeDAO has probably backed more Farcaster founders than anyone else

Also @bli.eth gives really great candid feedback when it comes to fundraising

Don't miss this
We'll be covering 'how you can heat up your fundraising' with @bli.eth, sharing strategic and tactical tips during our online Crypto Fundraising 101 session on Nov 8th at 9am PT. It will be off-the-record.

All founders are invited: but no investors, please: https://lu.ma/qnpb7pwc
Adobe is definitely in a Founder Mode right now. Because they build really something people want.

My previous company Relonch was about AI in imaging that’s why I’m still interested in what’s happening in this industry.

Yesterday’s Adobe MAX ‘sneaks’ were really mind blowing 🤯

20 years late to the industrial engineering party
20 years early to the mars terraform engineer crew party

Just right for B2B saas
In 2024, there are 16x more active Solana addresses than Ethereum. How come people don’t build Solana apps?

Is this possibly why Stripe is accepting stablecoins payments on the Solana chain?
this is the cast that gives me existential dread and keeps me up at night, i think about it all the time

Common Founder Mistake: Don't Overhire

"Engineering. It's not a problem that you can solve by throwing more people at it. It's usually just one 10x engineer that really knows what he's doing that just fixes everything." - @qw
It's that time! HumpDay AMA with @nonlinear.eth is here!

Jonny has been building on Farcaster longer than almost anyone and has a lot to say about what it takes to build a great product.

The AMA starts NOW ⬇️

How do you manage / accept to get some rest at early stage ?
I can’t stop until my body gets angry with me.
Cannot recommend the Odd Lots interview with MTG creator enough.

Incredible insights on how killing speculative markets was essential for the long term sustainability of MTG, and how those interested forked: what is considered "valuable" due to rarity are sometimes/often no longer playable in proper MTG games.

Shaped my POV on building crypto games + communities immensely.
