So Roblox get to use songs from the Distrokid catalogue and the artists get nothing? It's sad that this doesn't surprise me anymore...

55 years ago today at 11:35 AM on August 8, 1969, photographer Iain Macmillan snapped the iconic photograph of the Beatles crossing the street outside EMI Studios on Abbey Road in North London that would be featured on the album cover of the Beatles' final studio album.
Lady Gaga Square Gardens? Taylor Swift Rose Bowl?
Artist Pitbull just had his name added to a stadium. Are we going to see more of this kind of promotion?

Is this the norm now? Big artists releasing a crazy amount of variations and additional tracks to albums to keep up the hype and sales?

Musician Songadaymann is suing the SEC and releasing 10,420 NFTs, each unique renditions of a track called 'This song is is Security'. Awesome.

Will this work? Are people interested enough in PFP projects and that kind of branding anymore, even if they bring in big names for a new label? Will the general public be interested?

Are Portable Music Devices Making a Comeback? 🎧📀

If you're of a certain age, you didn’t always rely on your phone to listen to music on the go.

Remember the days of the Walkman, portable CD players, or the iPod? And let’s not forget the minidisc player! 💽

Each of these devices had their moment in the sun before the era of downloads and streaming took over.

As mobile phones evolved, offering more storage and better app usability, it became a no-brainer to consolidate everything into one device.

But are we witnessing the resurgence of dedicated portable music devices?

Digital Audio Players (DAPs) are slowly gaining visibility. Designed for audiophiles, these devices prioritize top-tier audio quality, supporting a variety of formats and typically paired with wired headphones.

Moreover, portable CD players and cassette decks are making a nostalgic comeback.

Would you ever consider buying a portable music device separate from your phone?

As a big fan of Dylan - this could be awesome. Just goes to show a scrappy attitude and throwing yourself into music has always been needed in the industry. If you're not willing to designate 100% of your time to it, it's going to be difficult.
