This year, I built

✅ Base Africa Sub-Community(Edo Chapter): I created a sub-community for Base Africa(co-assisting @theboiledcorn and @abelosaretin.eth ), which now has 190 members. We onboarded these members to Base(@base )and have hosted various sessions to enhance their understanding of Base and web3 in general. We also provided resources to help them grasp the fundamentals of web3, blockchain technology, and Base specifically.

✅ Content Creation: Through writing, I have onboarded individuals to the Base ecosystem. I also organized a writing class for community members, wrote articles about Base, introduced writers to on-chain writing tools, and supported writers by reviewing their work within the Base Africa telegram community.

✅ Base Learn: I have been actively expanding my knowledge and gaining hands-on experience with smart contract development using the Base Learn documentation.
In the past, people were given credit based on their credit scores.

Traditional Banks also rely on collateral requirements as well as credit scores to assess borrower's reliability. These systems, while familiar, are far from perfect.

I am excited to announce that my article is live on Built-in Cybersecurity risks of Cross-Chain Interoperability Explained.

The article dives into how Cross-Chain solutions enhance interoperability between different Blockchain, the security risks associated with these solutions, challenges in securing these systems and strategies for mitigating Cybersecurity risks in Cross-Chain solutions.

In addition, I highlighted types of Cross-Chain solutions that enable interoperability between different Blockchain.

A good documentation retains users while a bad one frustrates users and drives them away.

We should normalize prioritizing technical writers at the early stages of developing a product, just as we prioritize developers and product designers.

I have seen so many new products out there with poor documentation due to not having technical writers in the team.

Involving technical writers early in the development cycle will save you a whole lot of stress in getting new users to understand your product.

This is a must read for everyone building a product out there.
Grateful to @base for putting together this learning resources

Making some progress yeah🤗
Great documentation is not just about what you say but how you say it and how efficiently you help your users accomplish their goals.

Just as we test and validate our code to make sure it works, so does editing our documentation requires validation, testing, and review to ensure it meets the user's needs.

Editing requires the skills of a detective, an architect, and a craftsperson. It is a collaborative process that involves testing assumptions and gathering feedback.

Read my latest article review extracted from the book docs for developers. Ensure to drop your feedback in the comment section if you find it helpful.

I should be posting my writing stuff here 🤔 thinking out loud
After weeks of neglecting the mapping exercise 😅. It was pretty tough. I earned my Mappings badge on Base Learn! Join Onchain Summer and learn to build the future at https://base.org/learn.
This week I built

Onboarded two members to /union Finance an onchain p2p credit protocol

Staked 1 Base USDC on Union Finance protocol

Wrote an article on getting started with Union Finance on Base

I haven't seen a channel for technical or content writers on Warpcast 🤔
I recently staked 1 Base USDC on /union Finance(@union ) and onboarded two new members.

Navigating the platform revealed several friction points for new users. And I have put together an article on getting started with Union Finance on Base.

This Week I Built 🚀
🔹 Tested Union Finance Dapp – Explored its P2P onchain credit protocol alongside the product team.
🔹 Onboarded a Friend – Introduced a friend to Union Finance and tested out some features.
🔹 Community Engagement – Collaborated with writing mentor in.providing feedback on articles in /base-africa Telegram community.
🔹 Networking – Attended the Base Builders meeting on Gather

Impact

These efforts contributed to improving the Union Finance protocol.

By sharing insights and providing feedback in /base-africa community, I helped elevate the quality of shared knowledge, fostering growth and collaboration within the community.
I came across the /union Finance beta app testing bounty on X, registered, and was scheduled for a call.

After the beta testing call with @holaivory.eth and @kingjacob, I was curious to explore more and test features in the DApp.

A glimpse: Union Finance is a peer to peer onchain credit protocol where members can vouch for credit for their friends.

Moving forward, I invited a friend, @kaymunity, to onboard him to Union Finance using his ENS name through my referral link, although it didn't work as expected.

I didn't stop there; I delved deeper into the Union documentation and blog page on Mirror to learn more about the project.

I will be crafting an article about this project while I understand the project.

Learn more about Union Finance here.

It is also on Base mainnet; you can use your Basename to test it out.
I was present at the @base builders meeting on gather with @jessepollak @wbnns @statuette and other base builders

@jessepollak talked about Base emerging as the center for onchain AI

Come 2025 We keep building 🔵

Shout out to my biggest inspiration @wbnns looking up to you 💯
I just came to know about Purple DAO. It’s fascinating. You can also take the quiz, learn about Purple DAO, and earn some ETH
This week, I built

Deployed the Array exercise on the Base Testnet and received my badge. I also pushed all my Base Learn exercises to GitHub; https://github.com/Nickyshe/Base-Learn-Smart-Contract-Dev

Additionally, I registered for the Base and Rare Skills smart contract bootcamp and signed up for the Talent Passport protocol account. Currently with a builder score of 25.
I earned my Arrays badge on Base Learn! Join Onchain Summer and learn to build the future at https://base.org/learn.
I just applied to the Base x RareSkills smart contract bootcamp!

If you see a problem, solve it. After careful observation and responses via the event registration link, we realized that many people onboarded have little or no knowledge about Blockchain.

At /base-africa, Edo Chapter, we are not just bringing people on-chain; we are raising builders—builders who will make an impact and bring more people on-chain.

This has been the best call session we have had so far. We discussed the fundamentals of Blockchain, Base, and the career paths that newbies can take.

To spice things up, we ended the session by playing a Blockchain game built on @base (Trivia Base) by a team from the community, @oluwasemiloore , to test participants' knowledge.

A big shout-out to my amazing speaker @jackofweb3, my designer @fiayobi, and my wonderful co-host @abelosaretin.eth

This doesn't stop here; we are planning something huge for community members! 💯
