A few months ago, I read a report on the LNG market outlook by the excellently named Institute for Energy Economic and Financial Analysis (“IEEFA”). The data was at odds with what I had seen elsewhere, which was why I was interested. But something about the tone of the report rubbed me the wrong way. It just seemed ‘preachy’?? Like, no pretense to objectivity.

So I read the bios of the authors. Everyone. EVERYONE. at IEEFA has a renewable energy background.

Today, I read a respected African economic journal quoting verbatim from that report.

And that, ladies and gents is my first time seeing the power of a lobby in action.

Chelsea seems to need someone to explain the difference between profit and cashflow.

These games they are playing with accounting profit for PSR purposes are not novel. Many have tried it in many different industries. But cash is king and every club and player out there should absolutely be hosing them out for cash.

Watching the Chelsea “project” is like watching an accident in slow motion. You’re hoping things work out and no one gets hurt, but each second that passes makes the good outcome less likely.

Maybe it’s just my algo, but the media’s current Kamala love fest feels very 2016. Anecdotally, few people in my circles think she has an actual shot, so it’s likely she still has a LOT to do to prove her case.
