Hosting the largest number of Ethereum core contributors Africa has ever had in one place (core devs, researchers, client teams), and builders from all over Africa coming together.

If I were to design immigration for an ambitious state / network state, I’d create a dedicated visa category where the main requirement is being a migrant to another country.

They work harder, are entrepreneurial, and know how to uproot their lives and try to succeed in a new place.

Honest thoughts:

The Ethereum community has been dragging its feet on Africa. Too little support for grassroots communities, education initiatives, early stage projects, and events.

Yet, Africa is where the biggest user base and lasting use cases exist.

How do we bridge this gap?
I wish there are more politicians who have in depth conversations about where and how crypto makes sense for their country, then make announcements that it’s a good thing.

Harder to trust those who start with announcement and then try to figure out what it means…
Heard from an African builder that Nigeria has the second largest Metamask wallets.

Anyone from Metamask who can confirm this?
Just spent 2 weeks in Ethiopia with the crypto community. Super early days, but impressed by the number of original thinkers.
