Ireland holds a special place in my heart. I spent winter '96, spring '97, in Galway as part of an exchange students program.
I still remember the walk from Corrib Village to UCG, the crazy weather, the pubs, and of course, this is where I learned to appreciate Guinness. So many beautiful memories. Sunday branches at the King's Head, with small jazz bands performing live. The Aran Islands. A wild party at Menlo Castle.
Warm people I fell in love with. At some point, someone "explained": "you know, our island was originally in the Mediterranean, next to you (Greece), that's why we feel close". It makes sense.

Going to Galway during race week is weird. Ton of young people in suits, women dressed in fancy clothes with matching fancy hats. And in the evening, the Latin Quarter is full of them getting drunk.
