“Of all the predictors analysed, physical activity score was the only one whose protective effect was statistically significant for all the types of mortality studied.” Carlos, et al 2022.

“As allied health professionals, our job is MORE than just “the diagnosis”.

Getting someone out of pain is great.

Giving them a better life is GREATER.

Giving them independence to take charge of their own heath is the GREATEST.

Strength training is literally the fountain of youth and regardless of pathology, NEEDS to be a significant portion of every rehab program. In fact, I would go as far as to say that lack of strength training is the #1 reason for a poor physical therapy outcome.

In order to get stronger, we need STIMULATORY reps. Too often we mismatch the goal (strength) with the intervention (band rows for 3x10).

Physical Therapy should look like WORK with appropriately dosed STRAINING movement patterns.

Rehab to Resilience”.
This morning a patient brought their service dog to our balance gym. He's about to have a panic attack not being allowed to help the other patients who are almost falling.
@traguy.eth i need you!!!
my elbow hurts, sudden sharp pains
i think i slept on it or something
Nothing more important than watching and adopting a correct posture

Poor postures could go as far as causing life-long deformities.
How am i supposed to deal with patients that have 0 nutrition, no sleep, sedentary lifestyle, only skoke and drink coffee plus of 60 year of age??
Like im not some kind of magician mann
My 7 year old will NOT need a cast. Just a brace per Peds Orthopedic today...

Hand Physical therapy exercises!

“Why are you happy so today, Law?”

Well, why’s the sky blue :)

IT’S WORLD PT DAY, c’mon

Today is a day to spread awareness about the contribution of physiotherapy in the society

Who is a physiotherapist?

A physiotherapist is not just a healthcare professional, but a guardian of hope, a champion of resilience, and a catalyst for healing.

Well, I try and strive to do that to do that every day in this community and I think we’re getting somewhere. I have a whole lot planned to ensure there’s better awareness on here

Happy World PT day!!!

Celebrate your physiotherapists today; Well, celebrate me😉.
Growing up I always knew I wanted to work in the medical field, I was just so invested in the thought of helping people through their health challenges and also it made me feel cool😅

When I first heard about physiotherapy I honestly didn’t know what it entailed I just gave it a go without thinking too much and it’s been one of the best decisions of my life.

HAPPY WORLD PHYSIOTHERAPY DAY
Happy World Physiotherapy Day 👨🏽‍⚕️🎊

Put in comments if you’ve ever done PT and how it saved you ( it can also be a friend or family )
Yes... I will always need physical therapy.

Step 1 & 2 of just my back fusions...
Hey you 🫵
Yes, you

I’m sure you probably lifted the wrong way today already😕

When we do these, we;

-Engage our back muscles in an unnatural way

-Put stress on the spine, causing compression and irritation of the discs and facet joints

The consequences of these include poor posture, chronic low back pain, stiffness and decreased athletic performance and overall quality of life

Use a proper form/posture and avoid unnecessary complications :)
Stretching Exercise

when to perform stretching exercises
1. Early morning
2. Before and/or after workout
3. After sitting in a position for too long
4. when feeling muscle tightness or shortness

Benefits of stretching exercise
1. Improves flexibility
2. Reduce the risk of injury
3. Improves posture
4. Improve blood circulation
5. Reduces stress level

How long should stretching exercise last for?
15-30secs stretching and 5secs relaxation time on each muscle.
each stretch can be repeated twice or thrice
Ok
I have been neglecting my neck health and i’ve got pain in my right side, irradiating towards the scapula. It hurts to put head back (like it was gonna break, i need support from hands to put it straight again) too.

the thing is that we’re about to move so we didn’t invest in a work place. So I work like i was a baby having tummy time (broken coccyx won’t allow me to work sitting for a long time) or with my head supported on the wall (shorter periods of time)

I know i shouldn’t have but
now it’s past gone

i can’t turn my neck right for a week now
is that a “see a doctor”’point?

i’ve been taking toragesic but it’s mostly analgesic and not for inflammation
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome cont.d

I talked about symptoms of CTS anda how we can prevent CTS on my previous cast
but what if we’re already having the symptoms?
i explained how we can test for it and be sure we have CTS first and I explained some exercises that can help relieve the symptoms

note: if the exercises don’t help relieve the symptoms after a period of time, would be great to visit the hospital.
CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME

As people who spend extended periods working on laptops or desktops on daily basis, this is a condition we are prone to.
CTS is a condition where the median nerve gets compressed in the carpal tunnel, basically at the wrist.

The symptoms include, pain, numbness and tingling sensation in the thumb, index, middle and part of the ring fingers.
Over time, these symptoms can lead to hand weakness, difficulty gripping objects, and in some cases, a sensation of swelling in the affected hand. It is important for us who regularly engage in computer work to be mindful of this condition and take preventive measures.

If anyone’s experiencing any of the symptoms, let me know in the comment
Good morning guys.

Daily reminder to stay safe always
