About the most random tree I've seen for a while!!
The oaks in the UK are enjoying the moisture this year. Never seen leaves as big as this on Quercus robur.i need sz 10/11 gloves btw. Not little hands! 🤣
Saucer magnolias in bloom throughout NYC.

This is a hybrid tree initially bred by a French cavalry officer in Napoleon's army.

Coolest thing about magnolias is that they are more ancient than bees; their petals are so thick because they needed to support beetles to pollinate.
Cherry trees in peak form in Brooklyn
There are now 6x as many giant sequoia redwoods in the UK as in their native California (500k compared to 80k).

They were introduced to the UK about 160 years ago, and thrive in Britain’s cool, wet weather, not unlike that of northern California’s forests.
