Smart account (AKA smart contract wallet) adoption is one of the top priorities of the @base team.

Last month, Base ranked second for ERC-4337 smart account usage.
[Polygon was #1]

81k UserOps were made on Base in March.
[UserOps = txns made by 4337 accounts]

60% of those UserOps were calls to the @safe 4337Module.
The cost of making an ETH transfer on Base has fallen ~𝟳𝟴% since they began making gas target upgrades last week

26/03 - Median Cost of ETH Transfer was $0.081

27/03 - Gas Target upgrade #1

01/04 - Gas Target upgrade #2

02/04 - Median Cost of ETH Transfer was $0.018
Made a new site to track which L2s have adopted blobs and how much it costs to make different types of transactions πŸ“‰ ✨

Here is what rollups spent posting data to Ethereum in February

Excited to see these costs get slashed when EIP4844 goes live!

1. Arbitrum - $7.23m
2. zkSync Era - $6.02m
3. Optimism - $5.68m
4. Base - $3.79m
5. Scroll - $3.64m
6. Linea - $2.29m
7. Mantle - $1.05m
8. Starknet - $653k
9. Mode - $522k
10. Zora - $494k
Users should be able to pay for stuff instantly, using any token on any chain

If you've minted an NFT on Zora using their "pay with funds from any chain" feature, you know it's magical

That Zora feature uses Relay πŸ‘‡

I added Avalanche data to my ERC4337 dashboard this week.

BundleBear now tracks 4337 adoption on six chains (Polygon, Optimism, Arbitrum, Base, Ethereum and Avalanche). More coming soon!

You can try it out here πŸ‘‡

How are people adding videos to their Warpcast posts? Tried it on the web app but just loaded forever lol
This will be the first year in Bitcoin's history where the annual security budget as % of market cap will be higher than the year before (from 1.8% to 1.9%)

The security budget is the amount miners earn for securing the network. When this value is high, 51% attacks are expensive and vice versa.
We just crossed $1,000,000 of ERC-4337 Paymaster spending on UserOp fees!

Congrats to all the core devs, paymaster operators and smart account apps working to improve the wallet user experience.

Congrats and Merry Christmas all πŸŽ…βœ¨

I made a dashboard that tracks Scroll user activity. Makes it easy to find out which projects are trending, what people are doing onchain .etc.

You'll find it interesting if you're looking for protocols to farm or looking for ideas for projects to build on Scroll

I built a dashboard that tracks ERC4337 adoption at BundleBear.com

I'm writing an ERC4337 2023 Year-in-review report to summarize the most important insights.

What questions would you most like to see answered in the year-in-review report?

Added a new page to BundleBear for tracking ERC4337 wallet apps 🐻✨

Patch Wallet users drove 55% of the UserOps last week (4337 wallets make UserOps instead of transactions). Most of this activity can be attributed to Grindery token farming πŸͺ™
I've been working on a custom GPT for DefiLlama since OpenAI's dev day

Now I'm not sure whether OpenAI will exist in a week πŸ˜…

Good reminder why open source and decentralisation are important. I won't forget that lesson next time I'm working on an AI build

I added retention data to BundleBear.com this week

1/ The average 4-week retention of ERC4337 smart accounts on Polygon is 6.5% (.ie ~6.5% of accounts created UserOps in the 4th week after their first UserOp)

2/ On Optimism the 4-week retention is 2.24%

3/ On Arbitrum the 4-week retention is 2.96%
Last week we saw a new all-time high in 4337 account activity. 850,000+ UserOps were executed.

(A UserOperation is a type of transaction that a 4337 account makes)

The main driver appears to be Patch Wallet Activity on Polygon 🟣✨
I built a new dashboard site for tracking ERC4337 adoption.

Take a look at bundlebear.com 🐻✨

(only supports desktop for now sorry)

On Reddit, Crypto is one of the top categories displayed on the sidebar

But the only crypto subreddits that get featured are for shitcoins 😭😭😭
(with the exception of Bitcoin)

This is why we can't have nice things. This is the only side of crypto that normies get to see.
Some recent data trends in the ERC4337 Smart Account space:

1. Polygon was the top chain for smart account activity last week, with 93% of weekly active ERC4337 accounts and 97% of successful User Operations (UserOp is a txn made by a 4337 account).
1/ USDT on Tron is the go-to stablecoin for African crypto-natives. BUSD on BSC takes second place.

Today, stablecoins on Optimism/Arbitrum have similar/better
- transfer costs
- crypto<->fiat liquidity

The problem is that most folk outside of CT have never heard about Optimism/Arbitrum πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
The "state-of-the-art" in crypto frontend dev has shifted a lot recently

- wagmi 1.0 breaking changes
- ethers to viem migration
- rainbowkit/connectkit updates

As a result, most crypto frontend tutorials are out of date

I wrote a guide that's up to date. Link below πŸ‘‡
Bullshit =

- Google shadowbans Calendly so you'll use Google Appointment Reminder

- Google makes it impossible to find and share Appointment Reminder links in the Calendar app πŸ’€πŸ˜πŸ˜
It's time for me to learn TailwindCSS

Genuinely really excited for it!
Updated my ERC-4337 dashboard to track smart account adoption on Base πŸ”΅βœ¨

More than 5,000 smart accounts have been deployed on Base in the past week!
Trying something new
