I really dislike the word “opportunity”. It feels like such an empty word.

When stuck on a problem, a common practice is to step away and exercise your mind on something else to provide a mental reset.

When I’m stuck on a problem, I watch an Ozzy interview and try to decode wtf he’s saying.

I ate cheeseburgers for dinner while watching that scene from The Menu where he makes a cheeseburger.

I get (un?)justifiably angry.

“I missed my Monday workout so my OCD tells me I need to do two workouts today to make up for it.”

“That defies exercise science, but ok.”

Science has nothing on OCD.

One thing I love about weekends is just doing work.

The week often gets really hectic and spontaneous where what you planned to do is simply not what you ended up doing.

During the weekend I can focus completely uninterrupted with no slack, email, or random meetings. Just get work done. And it feels good.

Chores and household tasks were starting to lag the past few weeks. Family didn’t like the idea of Jira and standups to stay accountable.

They underestimate how much our velocity could improve as a family. SMH

My wife made me a fruit bowl morning, which was a nice surprise. But haven't yet found any hamburgers in it. Just strawberries and such.

Whether you have qualms about your job or not, a productive day feels really good.

I was experimenting with OpenAI API and started with the gpt-4o-mini model. The docs say that all non-latest models are trained up to a certain date, which for mini is October 2023.

Did not realize this training includes what it knows as today's date.

It is literally stuck at a point in time.
