I got my 4yo a bunch of VOO for his birthday. He asked me what it is. Best I could come up with is "smart money in your bank". I think he got it?
I finished early for the holidays so I was able to go to Charlottes sponsored walk at school this morning... Being a teacher it is almost impossible for me to go to her school events as I can't just take a morning or afternoon off, so this was a lovely treat for us both ๐Ÿฅฐ
There were several criteria that mattered to us for our son's daycare โ€” after two months I think the most important for us as the parents has been it 1) being walking distance from home 2) having a flexible drop off and pick up time

Everything else about the place is wonderful too (3 hours outdoor time in the garden playground everyday, great caregivers etc)

But selfishly the first two had the most positive impact on us day to day

Today was a meeting with the teachers at the cram school my children go to. We have known that teacher for about 8 years and the kids trust him very much.

The main topic was about my son who is preparing for the high school entrance exam next February.

Based on my son's grades, a private high school would be a better fit. The environment there is very good because he will get recommendations from famous Japanese universities.

I think it is up to my son to make the final decision, but my job is to work hard and earn money๐Ÿ’ธ

just saw a video of a dad wooping his kid with a belt. seeing it makes it obvious that it is all laughably archaic. a similar feeling to the image below.

the biggest leaps forward are so simple - we realized children are not animals

Iโ€™m not a great cook, but doing my best. Fingers crossed he finishes it. He decided he didnโ€™t want salmon this morning so hoping that this turns around by lunch.

Rice, salmon, eggs, tomatoes, broccoli, spinach, sweet potato, a dash of ponzu, nikujaga (beef, carrot, potato, onion)
