just finished Blindness by José Saramago! it’s an apocalyptic/dystopian novel about a society where blindness becomes contagious.
it was recommended to me by an employee at Livraria Lello in Porto, Portugal, a few weeks ago.
I have to admit that it was a tough read, mostly because of the crazy run-on sentences, the almost complete lack of paragraph breaks, and total absence of quotation marks for dialogue. but I did enjoy it and it was nice to read a book by a Portuguese author while in the country!
