i want to nail the perfect sleep routine for when i start training again in november

here is what im thinking so far

→ comfy bedding / pillows (any excuse to buy fresh bedding lol)
→ dark room/eye mask + ear plugs
→ magnesium before bed
→ no phone 1 hour before sleeping
→ electronics out of the room

is there any other suggestions/findings you recommend?

hey team! here is my go-to lower body flexibility sequence!

why i love this routine:
preps you for victory: i did this before winning british champs so it works
recovery booster: perfect for soothing those post-workout muscles.

i've attached a graphic in the replies with all the moves detailed too :)

shoutout to team ac member @veekay for the video suggestion!
instead of a story time i want to do a AMA

in january i had a serious quad injury and in june i became british triple jump champion for the 11th time!

i believe that my comeback was due to these five things:

1. research
2. diet
3. sports psychology/ mental preparation
4. intensive rehab
5. rest and recovery

ask me anything!
the next world championships isn’t until september 2025 - we still have comps before then but everyone will be aiming to peak for next year

i’m now getting back into a training routine so i don’t pass out on my first “real” session back in november 😅

today i did a circuit of

3 x 10 box jumps
3 x 10 med ball slams
3 x 10 stepups with 10kg dumbbells

with 1 min rest in between rounds

followed by

3 x 1 min plank
3 x 20 russian twists with 6kg dumbbells
3 x 12 leg lifts

i wanted to do a few lifts but all the platforms were taken and i’m impatient so ill do them tomorrow🤣
here are some words/phrases i have noticed and learned since joining farcaster:

farmers
zero sum
many such cases
slop
ok banger
client
sufficient decentralised
permissionless
skill issue

what else am i missing, what other phrases are part of the farcaster culture?
i saw a cast in here by @degen-chad yesterday about normatec recovery boots which i use a-lot post training!

here is a video i made for them a couple months ago

feel free to AMA about my experience with them!
huge congrats to /actrackclub member @zeni.eth for placing 2nd in the 1500m at the Nakagami area track meet earlier today.

today's prompt is:

over the past week, can you pinpoint a specific moment where your exercise routine (or the lack of one) significantly affected your mood, energy, or focus?
every pro track and field athlete swears by dynamic warm-up drills before training. it primes your body to perform better, move faster, and stay injury-free!

try some of these before your next run or game!

i've posted links to tutorial videos in the replies 👇
during the last elite athlete q and a @chicbangs.eth asked professional footballer, nathanael ogbeta

“what was the best advice a coach has given you?”

this was his response 👇🏾

cool use case for the new channel model

i have been messaging health and wellness brands which i love on instagram to secure some goodies for /actrackclub giveaways and prizes!

it's really cool to be able to send them a neat read only link where they can see the community - the curated casts with no spam, the amount followers of the channel and engagements on the posts without having to make an account here.

there's one thing saying you have an X amount in your community but channels are a great proof of a vibrant community!

so yea shout out @dwr.eth and @v
This month's guest for the /actrackclub Elite Athlete Live Q&A is Olympian distance runner Jess Piasecki!

Read more about her here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jess_Piasecki

should you exercise your core? ABS-olutely!

why? - it reduces back pain, improves your posture and helps athletic performance!

do this quick 1 min core workout with me in realtime!

exercises:
- plank rocks 20 seconds
- scissor crunches 20 seconds
- bear holds 20 seconds

complete 3 rounds and your body will thank you!
fun fact i was inspired to write this as i have been overthinking what to cast all day and i need to stop overthinking and telling myself negative things and so do you!!
"he who says he can and he who says he can't, are both usually right"

i flopped at the world championships in 2022

because i overthought it

to automatically make the final i had to jump 14.40m

i thought 'realistically' about it

"there is no way i can make the final as i haven't jumped that far before"

i tried to be realistic rather than optimistic

and i made up reasons for why i wouldn't be able to do it

and i didn't

when i went back to the hotel the team captain told me i was being fearful

3 weeks later at the commonwealth games i entered the comp ranked 6th on paper but i shifted my perspective of fear to an almost delusional belief

i jumped 4 personal bests and got a bronze medal ( and was 2cm off the silver, behind the current olympic triple jump champion! )

i didn't do much extra training in those weeks but the big improvement came from a shift in mindset

'stop thinking what if it goes wrong and start thinking what if it goes right'

do you strengthen your hamstrings?

your hamstrings help you walk, run, bend your knees and extend your legs.

but they are also very susceptible to injury, especially if you run or play sports like football.

benefits of hamstring exercises

- prevents injury
- enables your knees, legs, back, and hips to function smoothly
- improves your ability to run faster

here are 4 hamstring strengthening exercises to incorporate into your lower body/full body days!

- Single leg bridges
- Swiss ball in and out
- ** RDL
- ** Good Morning

* means they are advanced exercises

i have attached some detailed youtube links in the replies of how to perform the exercises correctly please watch before attempting, start very light and do not push through any pain

follow /actrackclub for more! 👀
