how did you meet your partner? i'll go first!

10 years ago when we were both 16, kevin and i both won the english schools championships in triple jump

i sent him a well done tweet and he sent me a dm asking how i'm getting to the next competition the following week

we took a 4 hour train journey and chatted the WHOLE way

everyone said we should get together and we were like "NOooo WeRe JusTT FriENDS!!"

we both lived in manchester, but trained on opposite tracks in rival clubs it was giving athletics romeo and juliet

but we stayed great friends, and spoke every day

5 years into our friendship he told me he liked me

and we got married 3 years ago :)

he runs the 400m and is a music producer ( a song he produced was just in day of the jackal which was cool !! )

i will be heading to south africa for 3 weeks in january 🇿🇦

last time i went i saw beach penguins!!

(and i trained too i promise i’m not just going for the beach penguins )

it’s a british athletics camp so my coach and alot of the gb + other countries athletics team will be there

i’m excited to document the trip and i’ll also try and onboard some athletes onchain !!!

today’s workout is all about activation to help to combat the effects of prolonged sitting!

this workout engages the glutes, quads and hips which can become inactive and stiff and also helps as a pre-workout warm up! 🙌🏾

before each quarter you must fill your whereabouts which is the addresses of where you will be training and competing on a slow glitchy website

every night you must update the website with where you’re sleeping including room number if you’re in a hotel

if you forget to do it 3 times in a year you get a 2-4 year ban from sport

(it makes me laugh how the reminders go from “dear athlete🥰 thanks” to a straight up threat)

here are some tips on how i was able to grow my following/engagement on here

1. purple cow

mr beast said if you see a regular cow whilst driving you wouldn’t really think twice about it but if you saw a purple cow you would prob stare at it for a bit

make your content like that purple cow and find a way to stand out from everyone else!

2. use the feedback

is there is a pattern on casts that people resonate with, are certain topics more popular? double down on those topics!

@coach-holness has done this with daily fitness videos and showing his sneaker collection - his following has grown from 0-1k in a pretty short time

3. expertise

find something you’re an expert in and cast about that - even if it’s incredibly niche, alpha doesn’t just have to be in crypto share your learnings, fave recipes, mistakes, wins - @samantha, @zeni.eth and @serendipity do this so well

4. now go get that bag 💰

british athletics has received a huge funding cut

which means that athletes will get less financial support from the national governing body

a year ago this would have made me panic and i know many other athletes will be panicking too

since building onchain / on farcaster i have made a little over what i earn in a YEAR of national olympic funding in 4 months whilst being able to train full-time🤯

this is a real life usecase!!

in 2025 i am determined to bring more athletes onchain 🫡
my session today was 8 x 90m sprint-cruise-sprints

its all about being able to control our speed

first 30m is about building speed, the next 20m is flat out, then we cruise (slow down) for 20 and the last 20 is flat out again

this gets me used to my run up for triple jump as when running we have to drive out , maintain our speed and then accelerate into the board

fun fact there are little sensors that measure our speed at competitions which is useful for coach to be able to see which bit of the run we need to work on!

*as there are 8 athletes in my group, all doing different things we do a hand signal to coach so he knows when were ready which is what i’m doing at the start of the clip!

first time back at the national training centre in like 5 months!!

i did jumping and gym

it was great getting real time feedback from my coach!

he was happy with the progress i made on my own but he did make quite a few corrections

i got so used to training on my own that it was almost overstimulating seeing other athletes again haha

also two people asked me “ how is your cryptocurrency/bitcoin going” hahaha

just finished some yin yoga after a 2 hour car journey

i’ve got a technical triple jump session with my coach tomorrow so gotta get my body right

in august i decided to move back to my hometown after living next to the national training centre for two years

there was no separation or balance between athletics and life and it messed with my mental health + physical health - 2 major injuries whilst living there

tomorrow will be my first day training with my coach in person again - starting with just 2 days a week

im nervous but ready to return- i’m deffo happier!!!

interestingly farcaster and /blueprint is to thank for that - as i due to having some stability in finances i was able to take that risk of moving back home which could have made me lose my place on the olympic programme

glad i took that risk and went all in on my intuition for once!!!
