Zero-knowledge proofs will probably be a key technology that will bring mass-adoption to crypto and web3. There are too many people that won't use applications unless their privacy is protected - and this goes beyond just no KYC.
@trondao, can you please improve the developer experience on TRON ?!!

- documentation is largly outdated
- support for developers is non-existent or very slow
- too much energy consumption for marginally more complicated contracts
- tronbox needs a verification function - we don't flatten contracts these days!
- keep up with Solidity development please - 0.8.0 is too old!
- wen Foundry-tron?
- ...

Anyone else want to add anything?

Get on it so we can start building cool stuff 😏

🚨 DEVELOPER POST ALERT 🚨

After reading about the vulnerability issues with the SELFDESTRUCT opcode in Solidity several times, I wondered - why does this opcode even exist, who uses it and for what? 🤔

Here’s what I discovered:

TL;DR: SELFDESTRUCT was initially designed for storage management but nowadays for these reasons pretty much obsolete. The opcode has been used by some projects to upgrade code in place, however, there are other solutions for this specific use case. Given the violation of invariants that come with SELFDESTRUCT and the risks associated with that will likely result in the elimination of the opcode SELFDESTRUCT in future upgrades of Ethereum.

Why work for your "bag"?

Many think that they only need to "invest" some money in crypto and they will magically get rich and create generational wealth. But this could not be further from the truth! At least not in the time horizon people often have in mind.

The miscalculation many make is that they think they can repeatedly click a button and turn a few bucks into a Lambo - just need to find the right one, right? But this is exactly as it sounds, a lottery. Not sure about the odds here but they are likely very low. Would you recommend to anyone making "buying lottery tickets" their main strategy to improve their financial situation? Likely not.

You can make a ton of money in crypto and the opportunities are vast, but don't get fooled when someone says it's passive or easy. It comes with a lot of learning, persistance, and sacrifices - years of it.
Have you been using abi.encode() but you actually are not sure what really happens under the hood?

Here is a hopefully straight forward explanation what abi.encode() really does.
Check out this POAP I added to my collection
We need more women in web3 - that's a fact! If you're a female builder in the space you're a starbuck ✨, let's connect!

Just bought some $MIGGLES and my first @miggles on @base.

If you want to spend your money on some people that are real, well intended, and work hard give this project a look. The @base communities have impressed me with their integrity and ambition to build an ecosystem that is sustainable and for the users.

A side note - the Miggles are probably the first pixel art that I really enjoy looking at💙
A kind reminder to save the date 👇
The most frustrating thing about being a project founder in crypto is that the majority of people are drawn to self-proclaimed "rich genius traders" without verifying it and without giving a damn about legitimate founders actually building stuff.
The hype around TRON is an interesting phenomenon. Reminds me somewhat of PulseChain. The chain very much revolves around one persona, there is basically no developer outreach, no onboarding programs. The chain just exists for its own sake and people for some reason flock around it (or around its creator/founder?).

I've been taking a closer look from the developer perspective and my conclusions are:

- development seems stalled since solidity version 0.5.0 or something
- documentation is horrendously outdated
- developer tools minimal
- deploying a TRC20 token is more cumbersome than it should be
- deploying is expensive!

But who knows, maybe this chain has its place after all - besides moving USDT with virtually no fees.

What do you think of TRON? Let me know in the comments 👇
While researching on how to deploy smart contracts on Tron (as it is THE chain right now) I looked at http://apenft.io which is proudly highlighting their support for "Tronscriptions" (aka inscriptions on Tron).

Reading up on it, I came across this short but surprisingly insightful article. It explains how inscriptions are done and how they are really not useful on chains such as Ethereum (and Tron for that matter - sorry "Tronscriptions"!). The author then concluded the article with some personal experiments on inscriptions and found that the most gas efficient way to inscribe on a chain (I assume this is exclusive to EVMs) is using errors 😲

Thought that was kinda cool...

Leave a comment if you think there is a good use case for inscriptions on EVM chains. I would love to learn more!

Given the effort and creativity of the /base team in terms of consumer, developer, and creator outreach /base will be the chain of this cycle.
Given the recent Telegram news, anyone using the Wispr app at all? Not comparable to Telegram in functionality obviously but still interesting product...
Pavel Durov's arrest is very concerning. Is this really about terrorism, sex trafficking, and whatnot, or is it about giving a platform to alternative viewpoints?
Why is it that most people think that arbitrage is a bad thing? Arbitrage takes advantage of inefficiencies in the markets and provides us with an equal price across multiple liquidity pools.

Our project EARN has multiple liquidity pools on different chains. We purposely designed it that way as it allows to take advantage of the different price movements of tokens the pools are setup with. For example on @ethereum, we have the $EARN token paired to ETH, while on the
@0xtobby $EARN is paired with BNB. ETH and BNB move differently in price, creating arbitrage opportunities between the pools. Arbitrage ensures equal prize while stabilizing the effect of the underlying assets (BNB, ETH, etc.). Pairing a token to different assets, and arbitrage thereof, not only mitigates risks of negative price movements while creating more exposure to potential positive price movements.

If you know of an example where arbitrage is a net negative for an asset, please let me know in the comments 👇
Minted this beautiful @basewomen yesterday. Love it!
I just minted @basewomen 💙 a project designed to highlight women builders on /base 💫. Mint yours using this frame.
