Since the Concord, our travel times have stagnated or even slowed down dramatically. With the Concord one could fly from London to New York in 3.5 hours, today it takes around 7-8 hours.
Is it surprising that we have not yet developed an alternative for the Concord and that we have been satisfied with the travel times? Maybe the pressure wasn't as high because other technologies have replaced traveling, such as video conferencing.
Here is a video about the Boom Supersonic. This startup is working on a supersonic airplane and is already in the testing phase of a model plane, that hopefully will make it possible to equip a passenger plane with their technology in the future.
