Highly recommend the Cocktails with Suderman newsletter, taught me half of what I know (& the price is going up after Christmas): https://open.substack.com/pub/cocktailswithsuderman/p/four-years-of-substack-cocktails?r=16q7l&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
It's Flannel Shirt season (cocktail & apparel)
Checked out Wunderbar in San Mateo, tried a Bengal Tiger and Holy Water. The Bengal Tiger is one of the best Colada variants I've had!
Negroni's don't have to be red! Take the basic structure and swap out ingredients to make a 'White Negroni', or in this case with Mezcal:

It's going to be 50ml each, honey towards a sweeter drink. Needs a quick stir/ice bath. Present with a green orange bum cut, zest and a cute drop of good virgin olive oil.
Rare I get to try new cocktails but the Canary Islands specialty Barraquito made by Carlos in Jerez, Spain (en route to Cádiz) was one of the better coffee drinks I've had!

Was bartending for a family friend's get together, was making some French 75s when I noticed fresh basil sitting on the kitchen counter. Realized I had all the ingredients for a Gin Basil Smash. Will be enshrining this into my repertoire.
Made some Jasper's Mix and was not disappointed - crafted a simple yet SO delicious #cocktail

Jasper's Mix:
16oz lime juice
12oz granulated sugar
1oz Angostura bitters
1 heaping teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

Cocktail I made with it:
Jasper's Jive
1.5oz Jasper's Mix
1oz white rum
1oz aged rum
1/2oz orgeat

Cheers!🍹
toespacer community didn't like the sourtoe cocktail recipe
Great idea, reminds me of a Kingston Negroni made with funky Jamaican Smith & Cross.
Also Plantation is being rebranded to Plantaray Rum, so keep your eyes peeled for that.
The Pearl Diver
Described as an iced take on a hot buttered rum. Seriously delish
