Disc Golf

All things disc golf. On-chain meets in chains.
Had something cool happen this weekend: back to back rounds with aces (my 2nd and 3rd ever). First one was my first skip ace too!
Techdisc is very cool but apparently I can only throw 80 some feet 😂 . Long story short I think the distance measurement is wildly off in the sim, but all of the other numbers seem pretty accurate. Probably worth a purchase if you're worried about driving, and especially if you want to drive in the winter, like me. I'll probably focus on improving speed and nose angle when there's less hyzer. It also probably uncovered that what I feel is a 'flat' release definitely isn't a flat release.
Lets see what the fuss is about (it's me I'm making the fuss).
Any Disc Golf Valley players here?
I miss disc golf season already. pain.
Hmm. Not that I need more discs but, gyropalooza looks sick this year as always. plus a disc as golden ticket entry to their event seems hard to pass up.

2nd Ace. Hole 17 on the new Shorewood DGC, Green Bay, Wisconsin. Lets fuckin' gooooo!
Shoot. 24 hours of snow, with 2 more days on the horizon. Season might be over for me...
Got to give a presentation on Disc Golf 101 as part of a job interview yesterday.
Silver lining: even if I don't end up getting the job, I think I convinced at least one or two of them to try throwing some plastic!

As an Ezra fan, this collapse was tough to watch. Hope he bounces back today and tomorrow and puts in a strong effort at least. He's due for a dub.

your going on a trip with a carry on only bag. You bring 1, MAYBE 2 discs in case your nephews want to play, spot a field in your spare time or drive by a course.
What do you bring?

Unlocked a consistent extra 30+ feet on my drives yesterday for the whole round just by squeezing harder on the disc and forcing it to rip out rather than releasing it
Did anyone watch Maple Hill this weekend? Was cool to see McBeth challenging again and Rick and Gannon to slip up for once and make it interesting for everyone else
Ran my course the other day because I only had 50 minutes to lay (usually takes about 1:40), and shot one of my best rounds ever even hurrying and with my heart racing from running up. Make it make sense
shot my PB at our local ace run course. -7
Still room to improve, but feels pretty good!

What's the best course any of you have ever played?
Asking because I played Beaver Ranch in CO last week and it was incredible (and incredibly well-maintained).

USDGC Spoilers ahead:
Proctor's rollaway is what I imagine a disc golf themed nightmare would look like. Except I'd be naked and my high school teachers would be in the gallery yelling at me why I didn't get my homework done. But other than that exactly the same.

Absolutely melting today 🥵
Well, I had in mind I was going to play so much frolf this year due to being on parental leave... Turns out I get more rounds in when I'm on a schedule... Can't wait to get back at it...
Jomez European Open coverage finally dropped! https://youtu.be/PFTKbX3Nh_E?si=HZypeFv8A_qgUQXq Lets goooooo
Hitting Rollin Ridge tonight. One of my favorite courses in Wisconsin, if you find yourself in the middle of Wisco for some reason, it's worth the drive. https://udisc.com/courses/rollin-ridge-sU10
Fun little Friday night par 3.
McBeth Effect Episode #1 is pretty great so far! Really shows the amount of effort and care McBeth is putting into growing the sport. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpFpzNhcscs
Update: it did not go well, felt bad for my partner since it was random flip doubles
