Allan Doctor (University of Maryland) and Hiromi Sakai (Nara University, Japan) are competing to create a single artificial blood that can be used for all blood types. Doctor’s product (ErythroMer) has successfully completed animal testing, while Sakai’s product has already been tested in a few humans.
Freezing bread can be a healthier habit. According to this article (see my reply) and a cited paper within it, the level of resistant starch (which is harder to digest and thus controls insulin/glucose levels better) was higher in the order of 1) freeze/thawed, 2) toasted, 3) untreated white bread.

Certain DNA insertion in TBXT gene caused mis-splicing of the gene and resulted in mice being born with short or entirely missing tails. This DNA insertion is found in humans and apes without tails but is not found in most monkeys with tails. Link to the paper in my reply. Img from Nature website.
