To achieve long-term goals, you need to a long-term plan. Excited for the increased certainty this long-term emission curve will provide!🚀
How voting works in the House:

Voting machines are placed throughout the chamber. Members slot in an ID card then vote.

Accidental votes are fairly common and not usually bc of bad staffing. There are lots of procedural votes (I.e. motion to table) that need to be defeated to vote in favor on the underlying. Votes tend to happen in rapid succession (5 votes in 10 minutes) so Members can easily get lost on where they are at in the series.

On top of the mechanics, members aren’t just sitting around between votes waiting for the next one - they have little quests. Votes are the only time you know that everyone will be there. It’s a great time to walk across the aisle and say “hey your staff have been ignoring my staff’s calls. I really want to work with you on bill XYZ.” This goes both ways though, so members are both approaching and being approached the whole time. Lotta yappin on the floor.

On SAB121 Ferguson likely was on a side quest , got lost on what the vote was, and made a mistake.

I just wrapped up my last day as a Congressional Staffer. It's been an incredible 6 years.

I'm excited to join the @reserve ecosystem as Chief of Staff. As Chair Rodgers always says, the best is yet to come!
Can some of you help me do napkin math to estimate the cost of getting sued by the SEC:

- Lawyer Hourly Rate: 1250
- hours per case: 5000
Total Legal: $6.25 million.
If lose, average settlement: ??

Plz comment what the actual numbers here should be 🙏
@nic @mattwalshinbos we have the opportunity to get a man on the inside
Skepticism of an Eth ETF is the only view that accounts for GG & Warren.

GG repeatedly testified that BTC was a commodity. Even then, lawsuits had to force the issue. GG famously refused to say what Eth is. POS makes Eth different than BTC.

Argument used against Solana in SEC v. Coinbase will easily stop an Eth ETF.
@mattwalshinbos at 25:00 in there is a JPM Payments ad talking about their product, “embedded banking.” Talks blockchains, treasuries, etc.

Jaime Dimon hates public blockchains bc he wants the business for himself!

@solana is open for business. Solana's new Token Extensions standard unlocks enterprise use cases that few other ecosystems can natively support.

I wrote about these changes for the Solana Scribes Hackathon, a short🧵

If you were to host a Congressional hearing on Digital Identity, what witnesses categories would you want there?

A few starting possibilities:
- ID Verifier?
- Mobile Drivers License?
- ZKP expert?
- Electronic Frontier Foundation?

What should the themes be? How much would you focus on crypto, if at all?
I’m currently an Overcast user and my fave pod is probably Moment of Zen or Empire. Looking forward to learning about what you’re building!
@cdixon.eth ‘s Read, Write, Own is one of the best edited books I’ve ever read.

Every single paragraph has the big idea in the first sentence, It’s so easy to track the ideas. I hope mainstream audiences love this book as much as I do.
How would you guys distinguish between commercial activity vs. financial or investing activity?
cross posting from /digitalidentity . People are looking for better ways to age-gate the internet following the Senate Judiciary hearing with Zuck/Discord/TikTok.

Anyone have thoughts on age verification for kids online?

People want to keep kids under 13 off of Instagram, but the trad way to do this would be to collect a ton of data on kids (id verify) in order to not collect data on kids.

Feel like there's got to be a better way using ZK or digital identity
Got to hang with @thorn today in the US House of Reps. Unbelievably, he’s better in person!
I rewatched Django Unchained recently and it changed how I think about identity. We still use paper ID's as if its the 1860s, and that makes no sense.

In 2023, I:

'Going Infinite' by Michael Lewis is awful. I read it so you don't have to.
