As a hobby, I'm writing a fictional story about starting a network state to help make the process more vivid in the imagination and inspire more action!

I'll try to get around to making it a frame in the near future. Things are busy busy busy!

----------------

Mistakes and arbitrary decisions from his employer, his bank, and his country have thrown Richard Cabeza's life thrown into a tailspin. Feeling completely shafted by the existing establishments, he starts learning about blockchain in order to take private decentralized custody of his assets. While studying and investing, he stumbles upon a groundbreaking paradigm for using modern technology to build new kinds of communities, cultures, and countries. His frustration and those of the people he meets along his journey spur him forward to implement a network state...

An office chair with enough space for yourself and a large dog.
Do you think dogs follow you into the bathroom because you follow them to the bathroom and they just think that’s how it works?
When you meant to type “work hours” but accidentally typed “worm hours”:
I decided to play around with making a logo for network culture specifically, modeled after that of the network state.

Thoughts and suggestions? I'm a software developer by trade, this was just half an hour of goofing around in GIMP and I just wanna see what people think of the concept lol.

One easy way we can categorize all of the projects under the broad "network state" label is to take all the facets of society associated with nation-states and attach "network" to the name.

For example, a state has manufacturing, education, health, culture, and governance. We can have "network manufacturing", "network health", "network culture", etc.
I’m excited to meet some of you here!
I can now get around halfway down in a pistol squat on either leg (this is progress) and I didn’t realize how hard this is on the knees.
I don’t care where you come from or what you look like. If you understand what I’m saying and believe in my values, you are my fellow countryman.
Is anyone else enamored by the network state for cultural reasons?

As a non-religious American-born ethnic Arab who doesn’t speak Arabic well, I find that I really don’t fit in well with “other” Arabs or “other” Americans.

Throughout my life I’ve switched a couple times between identifying between one or the other. But when I learned about the network state, I realized that I am not really “American” or “Arab”, but something altogether different.
I’ve been learning Dutch for the past four or five months. I wanted to keep going to ~B1 but when I realized yesterday that I might actually know more Dutch than I know Arabic (I am an American of Arab descent), I felt kinda depressed lol.

Has anyone else experienced something similar?
I was wondering what it would show since my picture is already a waifu rendition of myself.

Not sure if there’s a better channel than /dev for this, but I’m super impressed by the clarity and comprehensiveness of Chainlink’s articles explaining many different blockchain concepts. Their articles helped me much more clearly understand ZK proofs and roll ups and Layer 2’s.
I’m turning 31 next month and sometimes I feel like a scrub when I remember how much some younger people have accomplished.

JC Denton was only 23 years old when he killed Bob Page, merged with Helios, and blew up Area 51. Goku was 24 or 25 when he became a Super Saiyan and defeated Frieza.
I started practicing shoulder rotation dumbbell exercises a few days ago. I never realized that fifteen pounds could be so heavy.
Children raised in a network state are going to take making fun of each other in other languages to a whole new level.
My girlfriend (Farcaster handle pending) showed me this and it’s unironically a big part of why I’m in the network state lmao.
The birb app makes me sad.
Some weeks ago, someone posted in here about a podcaster who is strongly anti-network state. I think the podcaster’s name was Josh something though I could be wrong. Does anyone have that information handy?

Despite being strongly pro-network state, I’m fascinated to learn about why some people scorn the network state so I can better inform my own thinking.
Instead of Remy the rat, Linguine the kid, and ratatouille the food the made, it should have been Ratatouille the rat, Remy the kid, and linguine the food they made.
Funny yet unironically possible.
