1) Exchange-first approach: Built an exchange (e.g. Robinhood for memes) and back into becoming a social/discovery platform
2) Social/Discovery-first approach: Build a social platform to own discovery and then layer in financial elements

One sign that a new social platform is succeeding is that the initial top creators are mostly new and not from existing apps.
Many new crypto social apps have tried to onboard existing CryptoTwitter influencers whereas Farcaster has bootstrapped a new creator class.

Always thought it was strange that Twitter, Instagram et al, didn't create marketplaces for usernames where they'd be able to take a cut.
