Popular product wisdom: Build a vaccine, not a vitamin.

Crypto is a vitamin in the US. It’s a vaccine in the developing world.
What are people’s thoughts on sleep training and the different methodologies? I’m trying to build my own perspective.

For context, I have a 3.5 month old son. Until 2 weeks ago, when he got a stuffy nose, he got to the point that he slept 7 to 8 hours straight at night.

Now between the stuffy nose and some leaps and regressions, he’ll vary between 3.5 hours and 7 hours before waking up. He doesn’t cry when he wakes up, and instead rolls around for 10 to 20 min before kicking the crib to wake me up.

Trying to figure out the best approach to help him sleep through the night. And we have a solid go to bed routine in place.
Posted this on Twitter, but holds true on FC as well.

My son was born 3 months ago. Since then I’ve posted very little. My followers have also increased by 20%.

Apparently people like it when I talk less. Or at least bots do.
What's a good Uniswap UI for Base Sepolia?

https://testnet.base.dapdap.net/uniswap/swap doesn't seem to be working for swaps at the moment.
create.party.app was “zig when others zag” move in the market. Everything has been focused on memecoins and prediction markets. So it was really fun for us to bring back NFT collections with rarities and see what people create and do.

And I’m biased but the mint from the @partydao team is pretty amazing. Check it out if you haven’t already! https://create.party.app/mint/base/0x0933e8739a2fd1a99723d7acaf0b527c49920ee4
@partydao launched a new format for minting NFT collections which I’m really excited about. I just dropped my very first collection which speaks to my love for boarding. Check it out and create your own!

Ive officially lost my active badge 😭.

Now I’m on a mission to get it back.
Was recently talking to a friend in Kenya who had twins a few months before my baby boy was born.

He commented how affordable child support services are in Kenya, especially compared to the US.

I know if my wife and I didn’t have our parents help for a few weeks, things would have been a lot harder.

If you live outside the US, what affordable service did you have access to that made the early days of parenting that much easier?

And if you’re in the US, did you pay for anything you’d especially vouch for?
New personal trainer unlocked.

I asked Claude and GPT to build a new workout routine for me and to ask me any questions they needed to ask to be able to do so.

The results were pretty similar (and quite good!). Claude had more detail in its output, but now I've got a new workout routine.
Who’s hosted or been to dinner parties for founders, investors, interesting people, etc. in their city?

What worked well and what didn’t? What would you do if you were to host one now?

I want to start a monthly dinner series in Nashville, so please teach me your ways.
Today is the last day of the first half of my paternity leave (taking the other half in a few months).

Any recs on how I should spend the day?
My added take here is that most VCs aren’t doing it to feel good, but because they don’t know what else to invest in.

They lack depth of insight or vision to see opportunities beyond the “casino”, but still want to come off as serious, so they invest in some casino adjacent infra.
I’ve been an active LogSeq user for over 2 years but exploring Obsidian and Reflect.app.

Want to integrate AI and Kindle highlights into my note taking and trying to find the best solution. Would love to know what works for others!
Parenthood has introduced new time constraints into my life. One area this has thrown me for a loop is working out.

Would love guidance on how to think about building a workout routine for 30 min every day.
First 2.5 weeks were pretty easy as far as it goes with a newborn (I think). Baby is good sleeper at night and will do 4 hour stretches no problem.

Last 2 days have been a struggle though during the day. He never seems to want to nap and gets cranky. And he always seems ravenous even though he’ll spit up a bunch.

One small upgrade in our house that has been very helpful, especially with a newborn are color smart lights.

Connected to Google Home, makes it easy to have red lights or dim lights in a room in the middle of the night without much fumbling around.

Also find it to be more effective than the Hatch light.
It’s been one week into fatherhood. A few observations:

1. The name of the game is survival for everyone. It’s a lot like camping and tending a fire. Beautiful and amazing but requires all your attention to get going.

2. His yawns and little smile twitches when he’s sleeping are the cutest things ever.

3. Help has been pretty critical to survival. Thank you grandparents. Especially for all the dish washing and laundry.

4. Our favorite activity is listening to music, swaying, and singing. Aside from eating and sleeping of course.

5. I love being a dad.

Thanks for all the support in this channel getting to this point!
