While my wife and kids are away, I somehow decided to quickly tidy up the kids' room. I started yesterday, and this is what it looks like now. I'm starting to think that 'quickly' was a bit too ambitious...

Did you hear the joke about how freelancers don't go on vacation—they just work from a different place? Well, it's not really a joke...

I've now spent three full days at the cottage I rented, working all three days for 14 hours each. I've seen the sea exactly twice, just long enough to finish a cup of coffee. Gotta do something about it…

So, my family is leaving tonight for a vacation on their own, to meet aunts and grandparents and other relatives from my wife's side.
As for me, I'm grabbing our dog, renting an 18 year old Toyota Yaris and going to spend a week in a tiny minimalistic cottage close to this place. The plan is to finally enjoy some summer mornings, days, and nights, to walk in the woods, to swim in the sea, to fill myself with peace and tranquility. And probably with some wine.

At the moment I'm translating a documentary on American football, and this is one of the hardest things to do in translation. You need to translate something that doesn't exist in your language and culture. There are no terms for it, there's almost no people playing it, there's nobody watching it and understanding all the drama on field and beyond.
But I even start to appreciate the sport. It has some innate drive to it, there's a lot of intensity and passion. Every game is full of action, unlike actual football [soccer].
