Arc (Browser Company)

A place to discuss Arc & releases from The Browser Company

note to myself; use more arc summarizer
Sad to hear Arc is dying 🙁

I'm going to try out Zen browser instead, which has the additional huge advantage for me of having Linux support! And it isn't beholden to VC money, so hopefully it will have more longevity to it.
Okay, I've been a fan of Arc and The Browser Company for a while.

But, Dia.....

Come on, nobody there thought about it? Nobody? 💩
The Browser Company is your brilliant ADHD friend that gets everyone excited with their great ideas but never finishes that project they started last month

So The Browser Company is working on a new browser. Arc will still get updates but it's basically feature-complete? The new browser will be all about AI and not have Arc features.

My question is…how will they make money? In other news, I'm enjoying Horse browser and paid $99 for it (looks like the current price is $60 once or $20/year).

new update finally fixed the metamask issue
love you Arc Browser but pls fix these two bugs...

> metamask bug
> automatic picture-in-picture not working

thanks 🫶
I just got into the Android early access for Arc.

AMA.
Anyone else having trouble using @metamask extension with Arc browser? Just getting a blank screen on macOS. Looks like others are seeing this too: https://www.reddit.com/r/ArcBrowser/comments/1fqlhxm/issue_with_metamask_extension_not_loading_in_arc/
I wanna use Arc but the uBlock integration really doesn’t work, especially with YouTube (it works beautifully on Firefox and has worked for years). Who’s got this to work?
are we all still using arc or has everyone moved to edge now?
one of the features I've come to use more often in the arc browser is the ability to zap out any element on a page
particularly useful for reddit-style comments under blog posts that makes the page super long
Arc appreciation post.

This pinned Google calendar feature that shows the current date and gives some helpful awareness and access to upcoming meetings is a total game changer for me.
I have almost fully churned from Arc Browser.

Here's why I churned:
1) Load times: Took forever to open a link if /arc was closed, took a while to open a new tab.
2) Memory: I continuously had to quit /arc from my activity console to conserve memory and keep my Macbook functional.
3) Their solutions introduced problems: I originally thought bookmarking, spaces, and split view in /arc were revolutionary for internet browsing, but over time I found them frustrating and time consuming.

With an organized bookmarks bar in Chrome and a tool to snap windows side to side (I use better snap tool), my browsing feels more efficient, more enjoyable.

Curious to hear other takes, especially from people who enjoy using /arc. Maybe I'm just a Chromie.
I just like it cause of the mini video player that auto-magically works so well when you switch desktops
I still love Arc the product, but it feels like the Browser Company has been spinning its wheels for several months now

their internal member messaging has been schizophrenic, alternating between "we need to simplify" and "we need to do something crazy"

externally the marketing is full-blown ADHD: launching a national TV ad, abandoning a Youtube mini-series after 2/5 episodes, and now launching a podcast
somehow i can't pin/unpin extensions on Arc for some reason 🤔
What's your favorite split view combos? I love using split views for utility sites. Here is an example for crypto currency converters. Don't forget you can use Boosts to hide things on the page for a clean look.
