YB testing: when we have a new idea for LNC we run it by YB, if he fucks with it we do it, if not we don't
me: “we should AB test this”

@zinger: “no let’s YB test this”

There’s nothing worse than waking up the morning after LNC and seeing the @zinger notification you missed 😪
So I spent some time thinking about the whole mode/reason for using the feed. I think parties were talking past each other and both can be right.

The two sides were
1. That most people on social apps are mindless scrolling and "consuming" content. Think TikTok. Passive.
2. That people who are generally heavily engaging on Warpcast are here because of the personal connections to the content and its creators. Think forums, early Twitter. Active.

My corner of Warpcast right now feels dominated by people that fall into that latter camp, people who are very engaged and want to reciprocate engagement. What I don't see is the 88 other views my posts get, what they felt when consuming my content. Both are valid and present forms of interaction. I think those regulars in LNC are hyper connected/invested and are a vocal minority while the majority of users are passive.

If we want to see more people with that spark of joy we all feel being here, it requires us to do the work to help bring people into the fold.
warpcast is solving the loneliness crisis lol

@zinger cant unmute. did someone on stage mute me and i cant unmute bc of that, perhaps?
Notifications are still way off. Sometimes they come through others they dont. So even if you do follow each other and dont share the channel it's not a guarantee.
cc @yb
i wonder if farcaster growth stalled in part because new users were too aggressively filtered as spam
Enjoying the view with late night crew listening to digital friends dig deep into the channel changes.
Corollary to no one except me dropping into channels - doesn’t this go against the whole cozy corner thing?

How can channels be cozy corners if they aren’t destinations?
"It's kinda just par for the course for building on Farcaster, the protocol is relatively stable but you've gotta just roll with the punches on the newer changes"

discussing the channel update TONIGHT at 10 pm edt !!

/latenightcrew TONIGHT at 10 est!!

It’s been a few days since the channels update went live, come discuss how the experience has been for you…

- what’s been annoying
- what you’ve been enjoying
- any changes in how you’re posting or interacting w the feed?
- tips on channel management?
a small but growing part of me thinks that there needs to be something distinctly different than a) defined communities and b) simply casting to main. e.g. general topics & cities, anyone can post / join and it just defaults to some standard warpcast algo.
i was way too excited

this is on WEDNESDAY, not tomorrow
