The most unique aspect of Warpcaster is the network centrality of its founder and employees: @dwr.eth @cassie etc aren't just the most followed accounts on FC, they're also the accounts whose posts generate the most engagement, and through the engagement, connect disparate subgraphs.

The non-cynical take here is that the best way for Warpcast to grow is hiring more talented poasters.
"The fundamental properties of language design indicate that a rich tradition of is correct in regarding language as essentially a tool of thought."
- Chomsky

Will AI be language models all the way down? What does that mean for the future of human thought and language?
Roblox down bad.

"Registered as a child, we were also able to access games like “Escape to Epstein Island” and “Diddy Party”. We found over 600 “Diddy” games, including “Survive Diddy” and “Run From Diddy Simulator”.

Since September 2nd, 2024, third-party monitor ‘Moderation For Dummies’ has reported ~12,400 erotic roleplay accounts on Roblox. These include everything from “rape/forceful sex fetishes” to underage users “willing to do anything for Robux”."

I think a major gating issue for maximizing human/AI collaboration is human egoism.

Imagine a scenario where everyone on Earth could produce one-world changing thing. Say they had the choice of doing that thing themselves or with collaboration with AI-agents.

I think most people would, at least reactively, prefer to achieve the thing alone.

Then say they could do that same thing 1.1x better in coordination with the agents than they would alone. I still think a majority of people would, at least reactively, choose to do it alone.

The head of MI5 (UK domestic intelligence agency) observes that expelling intelligence officers using diplomatic cover has pushed Russia to relying on private intelligence companies and criminal gangs, which are less professional and easier to disrupt.

How do you extract dates from Farcaster Hub timestamps?

When I use `datetime.fromtimestamp(timestamp).date()` in Python I get dates in the 1970s

what, if anything, will supersede the concept of followers?
It's difficult to appreciate America's economic dominance without understanding how deeply embedded the concept of "your societal worth comes from the job you have" is embedded in the popular pysche.

One example I'm seeing lately: people on X warning you against doing ayahuasca/DMT because they heard about someone who did, quit their job, left their spouse, and became a yoga instructor or whatever. Why do we assume that leaving a "good job" symptomatic of insanity? Why do we assume that leaving a partner, for reasons unknown to us, is symptomatic of insanity?

As an American, it's getting harder and harder to justify raising my future children in a culture like this, as the world enters an age of abundance.

And people wonder why "normies" haven’t embraced crypto yet.

Crypto normalizes abuse and exploitation. Like many abusive dynamics, victims are mocked, blamed, and gaslit.

Crypto Twitter laughs about people "getting rugged," casually discusses "dumping on retail," and spins memecoin scams as "good for the space." Profiting from "normies" and "NPCs" is glorified, turning their victimization into a badge of honor for those who think they’re in the know.

Crypto is like an abusive parent, dangling rare 10-25x returns to distract from its failure to protect and nurture.

We still wonder why normal, responsible people keep their distance. Imagine telling your partner, "We lost the down payment because I misplaced our wallet keys," or, "Our retirement savings disappeared when the DeFi protocol got hacked."

Crypto is meant to build resilient systems, but there must be a way that doesn’t normalize the martyrdom of non-elites.
