people are not bullish enough about mini apps
I feel we’re at a tipping point for truly crypto native apps. Apps where crypto is not the feature but the rails that make it work.
I've been building in crypto for 4 years and a huge challenge for mainstream adoption has always been the inevitable tradeoff between leveraging crypto’s unique strengths and maintaining good ux
every useful thing like sign in with wallet and sending transactions became less useful, less appealing, less user friendly since it had to be hacked together to work with existing browsers and apps and app stores and operating systems.
We’ve come a long way. But the core reason for this trouble imo is that for wallets to fulfill their promise they need to be built into the infrastructure that powers our apps, not on top.
Crypto = rails. The useful parts of crypto like permissionless ownership, transactions, identity, are only useful when they're readily available for your app and everyone using it, like a public utility.

bullish mini apps because they’re growing proof of what an internet built on money legos looks like
similar feeling to ppl freely making defi and nft apps last cycle, just this time it’s mobile native and the ux is much closer to how the average person uses apps today

is there a recommended way to put an image + metadata on ipfs?
using pinata but accessing it is slow and the metadata validation during createCoinCall times out.
its faster and works if I use the specific gateway pinata gave me (....mypinata.cloud) but it seems like I should put a more general ipfs uri for the coin metadata? (ie ipfs://bafybeigoxzqzbnxsn35vq7lls3ljxdcwjafxvbvkivprsodzrptpiguysy)

using the coin sdk - is initialPurchaseWei the "want to claim more upfront?" amount in the app? if I'm using the sdk do I need to specify the 10M coins the creator gets, or is that automatic at the contract level?
what if we called it a memecoin

wrote a beginner tutorial about using AI effectively based on my learnings using it everyday
it covers core skills, use cases, and usage patterns for anyone learning how to use it better at work or personally
topics:
- writing better prompts
- what you can use ai for
- getting real tasks done with ai workflows
- more detailed examples
- gotchas

you know its a bear market when CT is against financializing stuff
build for traders or build for creators
there's a graveyard of crypto apps that tried to straddle both
not necessarily impossible so I respect the experimentation
but a lot of the pushback is from ppl who've seen this play out before and in some cases got burned
